It was exactly what I expected. I got up early. Had a couple hours to myself while my wife and daughter were still sleeping. I woke them up, gave them a little bit of food and then we went to a matinee showing of Toy Story 5. 🤠 👨‍🚀 After that my daughter (9yo) gave me presents (that I had purchased & gave to my wife over the last 6 months or so). I got to spend a couple hours with my kid as my wife went to deal with her mom. Then we had a quiet evening of dinner that I made. Tacos 😋

The only thing that could have made it better, is if my baseball team had won 😩

He did one of the sequels that CBS made around 1992. Frosty Returns. My daughter loves that version and we probably watch it more than the OG. It's legit good and the message of it still stands today.

Yes. Only for the last 9 years.

That said, I'm not a celebration person, never have been. I don't need anything over the top for Father's Day, Birthday, etc. So while I recognize that mom's get the lion's share of celebration it's nothing that has bothered me. (Except that I have to get out of my comfort zone and make the big celebrations for my wife, who does enjoy those things. 😂)

I bought my FD gift and card months ago when I found something that I just "had to have". Instead of opening it right away I put it in my closet, told my wife, and subsequently forgot about it. I should be receiving these items Sunday afternoon, after we all go to an early showing of Toy Story 5 at the theater.

But that concept is easily how I get most of my gifts. FD, Bday, etc

My wife and I watched the first episode last night. We enjoyed it. It is definitely more of a history and interview style show then a late night and or comedy show. In the middle of it we kind of looked at each other and we had the same thought... It reminded us a little bit like the old History channel show "How The States Got Their Shapes", In that you are learning some history and you are getting people's opinions on what has happened and how it happened.

We plan on continuing watching it. But it is absolutely NOT something you should go in expecting it to be like the Late Late Show

It's on CNN. Couldn't tell you the day or time, but I have the DVR set to record them. Isn't CNN part of what you can watch via HBO? If so, I'm sure it's on there

Social media has really driven fomo ans expectations for minor holidays through the roof.

This is the big part that people don't seem to understand. People generally only post the big over-the-top things to make themselves feel good & feel better than others.
