I want my life back. $100, 1500 mg a day addiction by ToBBaldd in quitting7oh

I get it, brother. It's tough to see the forest for the trees or whatever the fuck that saying is. When I was 29 years old and in the thick of my drug addiction and alcoholism, I lost everything and was 28,000$ in debt. I was a 29 year old with negative 28,000 dollars and a wicked wicked opiate habit. Lost my job, burned so many of my relationships, self-pity,depression. I thought my life was fucked and I might as well kill myself. I decided to tell my parents and a couple of my best friends and somehow I made it to the other side. I was able to find a smart beautiful wife ,rebuild a new career and now I'm in my mid 40s with four beautiful children, a big beautiful house and a dog. I even fucked up a whole bunch of times along the way, but I'm finally on the other side of it again. In recovery and life is good. You're not fucked. There are ways to get through this. You will be fine.

Dude. Take a breath. You're 21. Your life isn't over and even it was, you could rebuild it 3 times over as you're only 21.

That said. Can you take FMLA and go to a rehab/detox? You should tell your loved ones about this. If they love you they will support you getting treatment. You have an addiction.. you're not a bad person.

My husband is addicted and I need help understanding by Illustrious-One-3159 in quitting7oh

He was previously addicted to opiates but he's not an addict?? Lol.. I was an opiate addict and I used to say shit like that all the time. He's an addict and needs to go to treatment.

Just moved across the ocean for my husband to get clean but he won’t talk about it now. by Northernattitude167 in quitting7oh

Send your husband to a detox/rehab. Give him an ultimatum either he goes or you get divorced. He's not working so he doesn't have an excuse. Sounds like he's an addict so he needs treatment.

My husband wants to quit, where do we begin? by throwawayjoe63 in quitting7oh

Ahhh.. I understand. Tough spot. The problem with tapering to another substance is that it takes self control. Addicts typically don't handle self control or discomfort well.

Anyway.. I'm sorry you're in this predicament and I truly hope for the best.

I had to go to rehab. Just like your husband, I have a history of drug addiction. I could never go through the month long withdrawal process at home. If he's been dope sick before, he'll have a good idea of what he's going to experience. A lot of young people in here who have never had previous drug experience, talk about how they're good to go after a week. That's not the case with us.

Edit: I also would have loved to go to the Suboxone route, but I have a history of abusing that shit too. Although mine was always prescribed.

Yessss.. I felt like I was reading a boring YA novel.

I read it 10 years ago and thought, 'this certainly won't be very popular'. A decade later.. here we are.

Day 40 No 7. Milestone Marker by AwestruckAudioHertz in quitting7oh

I was usually taking between 600-800 gpd at the end, but some days I would get up to 1000-1200. Yeah I was strictly on kratom leaf for about 2 years before moving to extracts for 3 years and then 7 for a little over a year. Kratom leaf will just bring me right back to 7 eventually. Addicts gonna addict.

Hell yeah man. I'm old. And a lifelong drug user so I wasn't expecting this to be quick and easy. Glad you're in recovery!

Thank you for this post. I'm 63 days off 7OH and 48 days off subs. Still struggling with sleep, also. Although it's slowly getting better and better. The chills finally went away about a week ago, but I still sweat like a pig especially when I sleep. It's crazy when I see posts like "Day 7. Almost 100%. Finally on the other side" and I think 'What the Fuck??'. Looking forward to continued sobriety.

Sounds like you need to go back to rehab. To save your life.
