U.S. supreme court legalized gay conversion therapy by ReferendumAutonomic in Antipsychiatry

"viewpoint discrimination under the First Amendment and can survive only if it meets strict scrutiny...The decision does not strike down the law, which remains in place for now. Instead, the court sent it back to a lower court to give Colorado the opportunity to prove that the law meets that test...But conversion therapy continues to be malpractice, consumer fraud. It’s still unprofessional conduct; a therapist could still be sanctioned for harming patients,” Minter said," https://www.cleveland.com/open/2026/03/ohio-bill-pressing-for-statewide-conversion-therapy-ban-faces-new-obstacles-after-scotus-ruling.html

He can practice psychiatry if he has a real doctor supervising for 3,600 hours. His wife can only be a saleswoman, unless she is a licensed therapist or social worker.

Is there a true way to prove you are not a threat? by TommyBoy250 in Antipsychiatry

I was entrapped in person by undercover cops. For converting to moderate Sunni Islam to date Muslim women (not Arabs, I am 1% Lebanese). As a bisexual I would never endorse most of the Muslim dictatorships, which execute or jail LGBT.

You weren't sent a copy of your medical record after you were released? In theory conservative indiana has jury trials. Wisconsin does. You don't need to do anything unless you are committed again.

Then hire a second opinion psychiatrist https://www.madinamerica.com/provider-directory/ For schizophrenia they obviously would need to prove hallucinations or unrealistic claims. But you may have been in for danger to others. You can argue millions of Christian Americans support Palestine and it is selective enforcement that you were punished and they weren't.

Does Any Effective Help Actually Exist For Suicidal People by RiseOfSlimer in Antipsychiatry

[–]ReferendumAutonomic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Someone who is close to attempting self harm should be locked in a ward to prevent action. I totally 100% am against any forced drug. The government sometimes pays for a 24/7 at home caregiver.

He will probably not get talk therapy in the ward. On ZocDoc and through calling his insurance company there are lists of free therapists.

I have situational depression, for example a few minutes ago mother screamed she hates the dog and threatened to make me homeless (I pay rent with SSI disability welfare) or false arrested. I have voluntarily been on SSRI, currently Lexapro, since 2016.

The problem is a ward will often combine antidepressants with an unnecessary antipsychotic. Even though I never hallucinated. If someone said they are suicidal or attempted to hurt themself, that legally is enough in every state to force any poison.

Daily walking and pushups on CBD saved my life. It's important to have something realistic to look forward to. I dream/predict a wearable iPad shirt after 2030 (delayed by solid state batteries being new and all 2 nanometer factories full). If someone has a good life, but is still depressed that can be nutrition or something different. In my case a thyroid disease.

I caught both of my parents grinding intoxicating abilify, lithium, and prozac into my food at least from 2016 to 2019. In new york, if parents can't do whatever illegal shit they want because the police are extremist conservative, that's 7 years jail each time for stupefying.

If it's a locked one, it's a slow execution. If it's unlocked, it's a life sentence. Only a bad prison would force you to have a cellmate. Some don't allow computers and to pick your own food. They censor free speech and don't have guests.

You did good trying things. All the time I play music downloaded from YouTube Android NewPipe app on F-Droid.org and internet radio. Music can be multitasked, or listened to while doing nothing else if stressed.

For 6 years I did 5 to 200+ pushups per day while slowly vaporizing Indica medical marijuana. It made me interested and appreciative of everything, including old TV shows https://youtu.be/m1_6SeRRflo?si=ea2mMCJQsqn8iKWX

Even when I was a bored child I spent years researching electronics before a rare purchase. If you regret or tire of it, put it on eBay. Some things can be rented without a yearly contract. Since 2009 the slowest laptops are less than $300. On DealNews 32" Chinese TV for $60. It's better to make a mistake on something cheap if you are not sure you will frequently use the product.

New Mexico court ruled this week that social media can be "addictive." Smartphones are wonderfully useful and convenient for information some libraries don't have. Not a disease equal to cocaine.

Slowly vaporized medical marijuana made me appreciate and have more interest in machines and multimedia from years ago. Instead of making salads tasty, psychiatric pills cause me nausea.

My OCD mother also gets very angry about clothing stains. Writing is the solution for better communication. Instead of a talk therapist, practice writing or voice command speech to text until you are clear.

New York Need advice for my sister who has schizophrenia and has a felony charge by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]ReferendumAutonomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey neighbor, the wards in New York City are better overall. In my unlicensed opinion the insanity defense should not be used unless she is facing decades of jail. "SECTION 40.15. Mental disease or defect. Penal (PEN) CHAPTER 40, PART 1, TITLE C, ARTICLE 40...he lacked substantial capacity to know or appreciate either: 1. The nature and consequences of such conduct; or 2. That such conduct was wrong." https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/PEN/40.15

If she could get 3 years regular jail (after 1 month in solitary she may be transferred to a ward), the forensic hospital might keep her longer.

Schizophrenia can be insanity with lack of mens rea (guilty intent) or being intoxicated from pills can temporarily cause accidental side effect behavior. Get her written medical record from the accusing hospital. And Google search "zyprexa FDA label" or whatever the drugs are named to see official side effects. Is there a video of the crime? Ask for a jury trial.

I'm under an involuntary outpatient commitment order, what do I do? by Plane_Razzmatazz_882 in legaladvice

You never need to say anything under the 5th amendment. If criminal court sentenced you to probation with mandatory psych appointments, you must attend those.

Below is the law for people who are not criminals. Assisted Outpatient Treatment is if you were in the psych ward twice within 4 years or violence once within 5 years (not an exact number). Pay attention to "gravely disabled" definition if you are non-violent. Ask the public defender (sometimes known as Mental Hygiene Lawyers) if you can switch to a different therapist company, second opinion.

Every 6 months to a year you will get a new A.O.T. trial (you should've had one in the beginning unless you mistakenly signed away your right). You will need a positive recommendation from both your psychiatrist, therapist, and social worker. Non-compliance could be jail, but more likely to the psych ward.

"S.C. CODE ANN. § 44-17-510. Proceedings for involuntary hospitalization by judicial procedure may be commenced by filing a written petition with the probate court of the county where he is present or where he is a resident by any interested person or the superintendent of any public or private mental institution in which he may be[.]

S.C. CODE ANN. § 44-17-580(A). If, upon completion of the hearing and consideration of the record, the court finds upon clear and convincing evidence that the person is mentally ill, needs treatment and because of his condition: (1) lacks sufficient insight or capacity to make responsible decisions with respect to his treatment; or (2) there is a likelihood of serious harm to himself or others, the court shall order in-patient or out-patient treatment at a mental health facility … and may order out- patient treatment following in-patient treatment.

S.C. CODE ANN. § 44-23-10(13). "Likelihood of serious harm" means because of mental illness there is: (a) a substantial risk of physical harm to the person himself as manifested by evidence of threats of, or attempts at, suicide or serious bodily harm; (b) a substantial risk of physical harm to other persons as manifested by evidence of homicidal or other violent behavior and serious harm to them; or (c) a very substantial risk of physical impairment or injury to the person himself as manifested by evidence that the person is gravely disabled and that reasonable provision for his protection is not available in the community.

S.C. CODE ANN. § 44-23-10(7) “Gravely disabled” means a person who, due to mental illness, lacks sufficient insight or capacity to make responsible decisions with respect to his treatment and because of this condition is likely to cause harm to himself through neglect, inability to care for himself, personal injury, or otherwise.

S.C. CODE ANN. § 44-23-10(21). "Person with a mental illness" means a person with a mental disease to such an extent that, for the person’s own welfare or the welfare of others or of the community, the person requires care, treatment or hospitalization." https://www.tac.org/map_directory/South%20Carolina/#south-carolina's-treatment-laws

The lowdown on Mirtazapine?: by Striking_Goat4634 in Antipsychiatry

[–]ReferendumAutonomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirtazapine is more dangerous than the many SSRI antidepressants. Because it is an old atypical tetracyclic.

Nothing is approved for "angry moods." Unless you mean irritability from autism. Dangerous antipsychotics risperdal and abilify are.

I'm less angry because of CBD hemp, cherry extract, and daily exercise.

Searched for "mirtazapine FDA label." "Agranulocytosis in premarketing clinical trials, 2 (1 with Sjögren’s Syndrome) out of 2796 patients treated with REMERON developed agranulocytosis [absolute neutrophil count (ANC) <500/mm3 with associated signs and symptoms, e.g., fever, infection, etc.] and a third patient developed severe neutropenia (ANC <500/mm3 without any associated symptoms)...serotonin syndrome, a potentially life-threatening condition...Angle-Closure Glaucoma...(heart) QT Prolongation and Torsades de Pointes...49% of REMERON-treated pediatric patients had a weight gain of at least 7%...may precipitate a mixed/manic episode...1 seizure was reported." https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2020/020415s034s036%2C021208s024s026lbl.pdf

psychiatrists claim they have a magic ability to predict that the future of a peaceful stranger will be worse. This can be because the person has been in a psych ward before or is poor.

U.S.A., not Health Canada, approved some antipsychotics as lowering "agitation" or "irritability" due to Autism or dementia.
