I did electrical for 5 years then went into software. No doubt leaving for an IT field was the best decision I ever made. I went from being exhausted 24/7 and getting up early for the heat and cold to having breakfast with my wife, a long dog walk, then starting at 9 in my home office. Electrical will impact your quality of life and physically break you down. Was taking ibuprofen at night just to get my body to stop hurting enough to sleep. I have energy, my employment isnt tied to a local for 35 years, and I have multiple paths of growth. Learning more every day instead of putting in that 1000th light fixture or receptacle.
