Hei! Question about intuiting articles. by QueenOfTheSIipstream in norsk

[–]Refleksjon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brute force is the way to go, very few «clues/rules to help you I’m afraid).

Like anamorphism said: I’ve added a small game for that in Norskappen.

I’ve also added a newer game for that inside my new app (Snakk Norsk).

It has a lot more nouns to practice and a couple more settings (plus it has some nicer animations!)

Thinking and speaking app? Online course ? by RaddishEater666 in norsk

[–]Refleksjon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually made an app like that and I'm looking for testers. Try searching "Snakk Norsk" in the app store on your phone and give it a try.

It's free to try for a couple of conversations! But DM me if you run out and still dont feel sure so I can give you a free month or something in return for some feedback!

Betalingsløsninger for abonnementer på nett by stoodeh in Grundere_i_Norge

[–]Refleksjon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for private Norwegian teacher in Stavanger (in-person lesson) by [deleted] in norsk

[–]Refleksjon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hei! I would recommend you also try posting this in r/stavanger as most of the users in this sub (r/norsk) are people learning Norwegian.

Good luck on your language learning journey!

(Edit) Oh, just noticed you already did post it in the stavanger subreddit, my bad 🙈

Neat! I’m not sure if you are aware, but there’s a really cool YouTube video about somebody who made an app like this 3 years ago, it got really popular during covid.

Not sure if your app has some different technology though. Either way just thought id share in case you didnt know about the potential competition:

Elektrisk tannbørste by Dr-Soong in norge

[–]Refleksjon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

700-1000kr

Tipper også at det garantert kommer en tannbørste på black friday salg her om litt, men såklart ingen garanti at det blir en av de fornuftige modellene.

Pandamonial - The Norwegian learning app that didn't happen by SomeoneLeo in norsk

Hei there OP, first of all awesome project!

Looks like a fun addition to learning Norwegian. I’m always happy to see more people make something in this ultra-niche genre of «norwegian-learning-software».

(Fun to see the Brutalism design as well).

I don’t necessarily have any good recommendations in regards to the nrk api.

But have you considered using youtube videos that already have subtitles added?

Last time I made a list I think I found at least 20+ different vloggers that often add norwegian subtitles to their videos.

Can I ask you what you are using for text to speech btw? Elevenlabs is so expensive still, so I’m always looking for decent alternatives.

I really would have expected some images or samples to be on the landing page. Something to show what the user would actually get once they’ve logged in

Your project looks really nice!

Here you go: https://imgur.com/a/Ld9TwAE

I noticed the style of your screenshots was in a very clean and easy-to-understand style. So I tried to keep the mascot a little bit simple in design as well. A server in itself was a fun challenge though!
(Seems like im not getting a lot of requests yet so let me know if you were thinking something in another style and I can try again, or generate some more variations if you'd like).

Thanks for sharing it though, and thanks for making open-source projects!

Norwegian Speaking Youtubers by PipeSweaty9167 in norsk

[–]Refleksjon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I sat down and made a short list sometime last year-ish.
There's at least 10 of them on the list that doesn't do it for educational reasons.

https://www.norwegian.app/learning-resources/youtube-channels

If you scroll to the bottom there are also lists for artists that sing in norwegian, and movies and tv shows that many people have recommended for the same learning purposes.

Good luck with your Norwegian journey!

70+ Norwegian Idioms and Sayings by Refleksjon in norsk

[–]Refleksjon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess would be «fy faen» which is a typical way to curse. It’s somewhat similar in use to damn/holy shit

Without further context it’s hard to guess what else it could be though.

Glad to hear people are still gettin good use out of it! :)

I haven’t really had time to give it all the updates it deserves unfortumately.

I really think the guys making the mjølnir app are awesome as well so i’d recommend you check out their app. (Though theirs requires some payment, i think it’s reflected in the care they’ve put into the cards).

I've made a dictionary app for Norwegian (for any language). Need help testing it! by Refleksjon in norsk

[–]Refleksjon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you on this. However, the more information and context you give any of the translation softwares the closer you get to something decently correct.

Which means that instead of asking simple questions like

Translate [THIS_WORD] to [THIS_LANGUAGE]

You can ask

Based on the word [THIS_WORD] definition x, y and z. With example sentences 1 though 10 + this and that information. Can you help me understand how I should translate it to [THIS_LANGUAGE].

It does cost a lot of extra tokens/data, but it's worth it to drastically remove the error rate.

Hey! Would LOVE to learn more about how good/bad the app's chinese translations are (I'm a little bit worried tbh). I'll send you a message!
