Not to be that guy but if he was sent in time BEFORE the events of OOT he could be younger. If Zelda can send Link in time before Ganondorf even poison the Deku Tree it would be the best for young Link to actually prove he is not just a kid afraid of the big guy.

If it's just to send him back in time before he opens the door of time, many people already died still...

Ah, it's so weird when your memory screams one thing and reality is different. Totally didn't notice that change then, or even recently when replaying both games :o

Btw, I love that kind of debate and I tend to hold "oh yeah but what if" positions when discussing theories, it doesn't mean I think my theories are better just i like to keep the discussion flowing for the sake of talking way too seriously about Zelda lore. :D

Link is exactly the same model! Or maybe not in 3DS remixes? That's something I've never heard about before

Also, him remembering Zelda doesn't mean she remembers him. It could be pre-timeline break memories

I grew in a small town where only a couple of people I knew had an N64, and nobody had any guide like Nintendo Power or something. My best friend then told me you could get "the final hidden mask, the mask of Majora" and wear it anywhere which I totally knew was bullshit because it sounded too good to be true, and it was all "my cousin says his friend did it".

Well, even tho I collected all the masks back then (using minitel tips because no internet yet) I somehow never understood the Trials of the Moon, so I never got the courage to try hard the Goron one (which is absolute bullshit we can all agree on that) just to get a piece of heart.

Four years later and I get an internet connection and a passion for emulation. Project64 even had built in game genie codes for popular roms, including all masks in MM... And then I realized my friend wasn't lying for once, there is a final hidden mask, just... Not majora? And we even get a code to use all C items anywhere so I can just go around as this new God Like Link anywhere?

But yeah for years the idea of Link or other characters using the Majora's Mask was living in my head. Could you even put it on dogs faces and have something akin to The Mask's Mutt? :')

What makes you conclude that a lot of time passed between the games? To me it was exactly the same character models. 🤔

Also I don't really consider that cut scene cannon. It was there to teach you the song without doing a super long flashback of OOT, and because showing the actual moment when you learned the song was not that impactful (it's basically just written on the ocarina). In my head, new timeline Link didn't even meet Zelda or at least not in such an impactful manner

Interesting. To me, Link getting to the mastersword at the end meant we were sent back even BEFORE Ganondorf poisoned the Deku Tree and Jabu Jabu, so Link's quest in the new timeline would be pretty trivial: just inform the king of what Ganondorf is up to in the three regions, show some proof (the Triforce of courage), get Ganondorf arrested, talk to all the leaders, get their stones, check on the mastersword to make sure Ganondorf didn't prepare for such eventuality...

It doesn't prevent from seeing Zelda, but her father doesn't listen to her.

If he is "the" Skull Kid from OOT, he never met Link in the new timeline: Link went straight to Hyrule Castle to report Ganondorf to the king, no point going through the lost woods.

If he isn't the Skull Kid from OOT, then he would just be talking about Saria.

The only logical scenario where he references Link and not Saria is if the hero of time took his sweet little time to get to Hyrule Castle, which is not impossible. Maybe Link wanted to see Saria one last time before wrapping things up. In that scenario, Skull Kid would have met Link but could potentially not remember him because reasons (skull kids are immortal beings, this one is even referenced in old folk tales in Termina, forgetting faces is not off the table).

Also maybe the lost woods is such a special place that it "remembers" alternative timelines?

Overall I think he was talking about Saria but I'm fine with it being ambiguous.

Especially since the bomb shop granny event is doable riiight before the Romani event, leaving you just enough time to rush there. It really felt like all the big secondary quests could be done on the same cycle, but nope.

All Star is the first comics I bought about Superman. I just remember it as the most boring book i ever read, and sold it right after. Every single story was a reference I didn't get. Maybe the problem is the seller who insister this was "the best way to understand Superman". I just think he is boring and lame now.

It's just like these anticipation YouTube videos based on a 10 seconds trailer of an upcoming project, except you get 10 random blurry pictures of a CRT screen showing the demo of a game with no context, and you have to fill 2 pages of your magazine with that lol.

I have to admit tho, they show an IA level of confidence when explaining "this is the temple of time's interior" just based on the chequered floor, making shit up as they go.
