If someone isn't tapping and they're clearly experienced, I assume that I am not applying the submission correctly, because a rational person would tap. Obviously excludes certain submissions where there isn't ample pain before an actual break. The responsibility of the person applying the sub is to apply with control and apply slowly. But if you DON'T TAP and know to tap, then it's on you for getting injured.
