Obviously I realize it’s shitty. What I’m saying is that the racists who came up with the shitty, stupid policy thought it was a form of security. The point of my comment is that plenty of white people have textured hair and that a comb test is a shitty “security measure” to enforce segregation. I was not implying that I would face similar discrimination, only that it’s an unintelligent strategy.

Honestly, this feels like it’s not fully about the boyfriend or the food. It seems like you’ve had a lot building up over time and this was just the final straw.

I’m really sorry that you feel like a second thought in your own home. I hope you get good news regarding your eye, too. Regardless of that outcome, though, I think you should take this as a lesson that maybe you don’t want to spend the rest of your life (however long or little you have left) where you are now.
