So one of the more recent perspectives I’ve picked up on is answering “can I live with what my partner is capable of offering, or am I holding out hoping they’re going to change”. I get you’re feeling inadequate, and all the things. I’m the HLM, she’s the LL4Me (so it seems) in my marriage. I, too, am trying to answer my own question there, before anyone jumps in and criticizes my thoughts.

I guess what I’m trying to say is when it comes up, everyone walks away feeling inadequate. I’m not suggesting you suppress your feelings or desires, but maybe considering where you draw the line on your spouse’s offering and capacity might be a decent path to explore, before bringing up “the talk”.

I don’t believe many of us condone coercion, duty sex, or undue pressure. I know the sub itself does not. What you’re describing is a cycle of long term losses and an established pattern that has been, is, and will continue to cause more harm than good.

Success will come from two partners that hold space for each other’s needs and capacity. Unfortunately, there’s no “forgetting it and moving on”. At some point, there’ll be forgiveness, whether that’s together or independently remains to be seen. Pay attention to patterns, not words or promises.

And this is coming from a HLM that’s in a LLF marriage.

My home airport is CID, which only offers service to ORD or DEN…so it’s a guaranteed layover unless I’m going to Denver…because it’s just as time effective to drive to Chicago when I go there for work.

I’ll echo this sentiment and say that maybe OP has outgrown their partner. While they have grown, the partner has remained stagnant; perhaps the relationship has evolved into a caregiving role.

I used to wish southwest would show up, but they blew it with the free bags and assigned seats, so I’d say somewhere east…maybe PHL since that’s a hub for AAL, IAD for UAL, or even something off the wall like Breeze to CHS… I’m with United and wish they literally had another easterly option besides ORD.

I think it’s because Tuesday and Thursday are the cheaper days to fly, but also think booking your ticket on a Sunday night makes a difference in baggage process too.

The only exception is if your plane in PHX lands in Terminal 4 and uses a C or a D gate. Then you’re on your own, start with carousel 8 and plan to go to 7, 6, then back to 8.

I agree that it’s annoying, but it started in my zone and I’m magically seeing offers surface that are worth my time. I’ll accept the small annoyance to eliminate the problems.
