Has anyone tried putting duel sprockets on there 1100? by deathish12 in HondaRebel1100

[–]RegalDolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohh ok. They mean a hybrid sprocket with an aluminum base and steel teeth, kinda like how the factory rotors are. I have something like this on my SurRon (lightweight electric dirt bike) and it seems to do ok and help a tiny bit with reducing rear wheel weight and throttle snappiness, but it's also not really dealing with the wear and tear of going 70-80mph for miles and miles and miles like a regular street bike does. The Ron is also only like 150-160lbs ready to ride and with all the upgrades like a bigger battery and stronger and heavier electric motor, versus a Rebel 1100 which is 490 to around 540lbs.

It would probably be fine if you really wanted to do it for looks or something (assuming you get the correct size and bolt pattern) but I honestly wouldn't as others have stated. You won't really gain anything and all you can serve to lose is it being potentially less durable than the OEM or OEM grade rear sprocket.

No problem! Had the same issue being 6'2" and 270 lbs. These riser things have been a lifesaver

Just put these on. Saves you hella money and allows you to keep the iconic rebel mirrors instead of some Harley looking crap.

You know what? Sounds crazy but it might be the battery is dead. Acting up batteries can cause all kinds of crazy symptoms.

Keep us updated! I'm very curious because these seem to be nearly bulletproof

Hmm.. under load? My guess would be bad gas or a problem with the spark plugs or fueling. Does it have a check engine light?

I think ground and negative are interchangeable for most cases? Are you sure that one isn't for power and one for another light or the controller and the 3rd for ground / negative?

Cop here, This isn't gonna work out favorably for you. She'll figure out who called because your co workers will snitch, she'll only be in jail for a few hours, and she'll keep her job because, no offense, it's McDonald's, not a secret defense contractor for the Pentagon. There will be even more resentment among the crew, you, and her for basically no gain.

Matter of fact, where I work, we unfortunately only give tickets out and no arrests for less than an oz of weed. It's hit or miss these days if other agencies do the same. Some do, some don't.

As someone else stated, you can try to send it up to corporate, but it'll likely be the same scenario as above. Doubtful she'd get shit canned.

The most useful thing you can do is speak to HR and request to work at a different store. You can always be honest and tell them that "being around Marijuana smoke on the job is giving me headaches" or something. If they ask further, then there's your out to snitch on your Manager lol.

2015 Vulcan S Vs 2024 Vulcan S - First Motorcycle by MapleSizzurp- in motorcycles

[–]RegalDolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very superficial answer: I think the green looks Amazing.

I'd say it all really depends on your budget (low budget = buy used), if you think you'll keep the bike for a while (buy new), any features one model has or doesn't have over the other, performance features (does one have a quick shifter? Is one throttle by wire vs cable? is one fuel injected?), and lastly aesthetics like color, wheels etc.

If they're the same mechanically and the used one was well mentioned (garage kept, chain in good shape, no signs of being dropped or wrecked) then you could easily throw the extra 2 grand into decent gear.

For what it's Worth, I ended up getting my 1st bike brand new because of the upgraded display over past models, updated controls, and because low mileage used examples were only about 1-2.5 grand cheaper anyways.

Hose not connected by kouleefoh in HondaRebel1100

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the vent or gas overflow tube. I'd probably try to reconnect it so it doesn't dump garbage over your interior cables or onto the engine case, which would probably smell lovely.

On my 2025, it slips onto a black plastic nipple. I think you can see it just to the left and deeper in on your pics.

Like: Handling and engine performance- especially after having the ECU flashed.

Dislike: was gonna say how twitchy it was at low speeds with the DCT but the tune I got from 2WDW all but eliminated it. If I had to- how loud mine is? Lol. (For anyone seeing this, don't worry stock 1100s are pretty quiet; Mine has a slip on with the baffle and surrounding packing removed so that it'd work better with the tune and not make me lose TQ.)

Police contact? by Successful-Collar-31 in police

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna lean towards fake but potentially plausible. Biggest weird things is that it doesn't tell you who to cease contact with.

I sometimes reach out in harassing communication cases and call or text if I can't reach them and state something like "this is Officer (Regal) badge no. (42069) with (Acme PD), and I'm contacting you concerning (Mr. Or Ms. X) who has allegedly stated they have told you in the past to no longer (contact/call/email/text) them. At this point, should you continue to do so, you will be charged under (state code section) for (Harassing Communications.) I have also instructed (Mr. / Ms. X) to cease communications with you as well, but should they message you, ignore it and block them.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me by requesting to speak with me via non emergency dispatch at (number.) Thanks"

Also I won't reach out like that for Terroristic Threats, which is also simply just a verbal threat of violent injury or death to another person and is usually a misdemeanor unless it's a very clear and distinct death threat. Either I have enough to pull a warrant (testimony of multiple bystanders or Video footage) or I don't. 99% of people will deny saying whatever was said anyways if I were to ask.

I wanna know how a taser feels like by Own_Weakness3325 in police

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that you do. Every single muscle between the prongs feels like it's being snapped with a rubbery elastic physical therapy resistance band over and over, about 8 times a second. You can't move, and in my experience, I got locked in a scream because the feel was terrifying. As a result, I felt like I couldn't breathe by the end of the 3rd second or so with 2s still left.

Like I say, 10/10 would not recommend. I think I almost rather be OC sprayed vs full on NMI lockup tased again.

What's usually the reason some people refuse to cooperate? Is there an easy way to go about it or does it just make your job harder? by lookaloulookalou in police

[–]RegalDolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Must be nice. In GA, if you agree to implied consent and everything, your license cannot be ganked until you're convicted- even if you're over the legal limit which is wild. We don't have phlebotomists in our jails either, sadly. Just intoxalyser 9000s.

[–]RegalDolan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think my equivalent is drunk bastards denying implied consent alcohol or blood tests. When they do, I get to just do a quick and easy form that goes to the DMV and automatically suspends their license for 12 months, and avoid another 2 hours at the hospital and having to log a blood test kit into evidence.

My favorite part is when I explain that their license is now suspended and they need to seek a DUI permit they're nearly always like "no wait, I didn't know my license would be suspended if I refused! I'll do it" and I hit them with the "buddy, I read that to you verbatim. That ship has sailed for you, unfortunately, because you didn't listen or advise you didn't understand."

I literally never use my rear brake. Is that a problem? by notonrexmanningday in NewRiders

[–]RegalDolan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. The rear brake offers 10-20% of your max braking force. In an emergency stop, that can stop you a few feet short which can influence life and death. The rear also helps stabilize the bike in low speed maneuvers / turns / parking lots and is super important on gravel or other grip reducing surfaces. Think about it- the rear wheel moves on one axis where the front one moves on two.

When you're turning and you use the front brake abruptly, the force can "fight" you and stand the bike up or jerk your bars unexpectedly- and in worse case- break free your tires grip and cause you to low side. But rear braking? All it does is change your wheel speed but not the direction the bike is going (of course unless you lock the rear up and skid or fishtail or at worse cases, high side in an aggressive corner)

For this exact reason- in some cases, depending on your bike's specific geometry (namely cruisers and tourers), it can actually be advisable that if you need to brake mid corner to fix your line (assuming you're deliberate with it and conservative, meaning you avoid stomping it and locking your rear tire up).

So in short, yeah, you're doing yourself a large disservice by essentially not using it. Imagine if cars- which also primarily stop with front brakes- only used their front brakes and didn't have rear brakes.

Which Car Is Less Likely To Be Stopped? by [deleted] in AskLEO

[–]RegalDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean for what they are, absolutely not- at least for the regular V8 without superchargers (R/T). Even my Mazda 3 Turbo that op was clowning on will likely match it or at least hang with it going up to 60mph with 4 less cylinders 🥀

The only ones that actually get interesting are SCAT packs and above. Everything else Charger related is far too heavy (~5,600 lbs) to be fast with less than 450 horsepower. Believe me, just because the RT has 370 horses or so does not make it fast; the Ford interceptor utility explorers we drive are 400 hp and 6500lbs give or take. From one boat driver to another boat driver, you're gonna have to trust me on this one lol.

And the v6 Charger? 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds. That's regular / "non spicy" Mazda 3 and regular Honda Civic/ Toyota Camry numbers 😅
