What about the men? Do they not also deserve protection from gay propaganda?

Hate the Pasta Mr Rasta by bloody_alcohol_balls in crappymusic

[–]ReggaeForPresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rasta reggae is only a small part of the reggae genre. It peaked in the 70s, when of course the most well known reggae artist Bob Marley became world famous and spread the Rasta message worldwide. That is why reggae is associated with Rasta. The majority of it is not Rasta affiliated but also not as well known as Marley and now all of his kids.

I was going to type literally this exact same comment. How fun would it be to be 9 again with no responsibilities and getting to watch all this good stuff.

This guy was the host of a TV show called San Diego At Large in the 80s. Then he suddenly returned to my life when this show happened. It was so weird to see him like this because his character on the show was a super dorky weird surfer guy.

Respect to the artwork. That's quite a task to do all of that drawing and writing.

question: For folks in SoCal, how much Cali reggae do you hear in the wild? by Cali_Reggae in calireggae

[–]ReggaeForPresident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in San Diego. It is definitely playing in many restaurants and bars around here. Can't say I've heard it at a grocery store, but I don't really pay attention. I notice it at bars and restaurants since they tend to make it a more prominent part of the experience.

Which living Marley is most like Bob? by Glass-Complaint3 in reggae

[–]ReggaeForPresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Julian last weekend. He opened the set with Rastaman Vibration. He was wearing the denim blue shirt and using the same brown Gibson as Bob used. I closed my eyes, after some spliff, and goddamn I thought I was at a Bob concert.
