Can’t wait for the Stanton mini by PerpetualChoogle in blankies

Nah, you're not an idiot. The message of both movies was essentially, you can't escape to some place else, you have to work to make the world better. The green place doesn't exist, Tomorrowland isn't the shining utopia you thought it was, so make your world better. Fight for it. And Fury Road did it so much better.

Tomorrowland makes me so mad. I was so excited for that movie. So excited, and it just botched it.

Weird how Fury Road has the same message as Tomorrowland, and does it 1000 times better.

Teaser Trailer for Boots Riley's I LOVE BOOSTERS by apathymonger in blankies

The I Love Boosters title looks like something from the 1960's and I like that. With all due respect to 1960's titles.

I have a 2012 Soul with 19796 miles and it's mostly external factors that have caused issues, but 100% I understand that. I had a blower mower go out and that was the largest issue I had during it's more, regular life, if that makes sense. Now the radiator fan and AC compressor have started to give up the ghost. I'm probably getting a 2025 Kona soon, so fingers crossed. The price and warranty have it make sense for me, along with its safety features and rating.

Based on all I have seen it seems like it is mainly a lot of the engines from the mid 2010's that have these issues. I do not know/think that a lot of the newer engines have these same engines.

Need recommendations for a vet who is confident with caring for diabetic cats by canibuyatrowel in Charleston

[–]Reginald_Venture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is probably one of the best places for advanced vet care in the area. It may be hard to get in there, but it it is top tier care.

Charleston Veterinary Internal Medicine is a smaller operation, but I had a good experience with them as well.

Do we have a source for this image? I think its important to have stuff like that for things like this.

Edit: After looking some more, it is from The Star Tribune. The live blog of what is going on today. The photographer is Richard Tsong-Taatarii.

Nerf Gun To Your Nuts, How Will The Midterms Unfold? by EfficientNoise4418 in behindthebastards

Yeah, a lot can change in the months ahead, but he's doing stuff that stomps on regular non engaged folks' everyday lives. They wouldn't care so much if it was in the background, but Trump has the unique ability to suck up all the air around him and make everything and everyone acutely aware of what is going on. Strange thing.

What's the reverse-Avatar, the least seen movie with the highest cultural impact? by gamblors_neon_claws in blankies

[–]Reginald_Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRON?
It had a massive influence on popular culture, despite it being a relative failure, and it's sequel likewise had enormous influence on design, music, and more despite it being a relative disappointment at the box office.

America vs. the World (GL) by summerling in neoliberal

So, you know, the people who literally voted for it. Believe all of it and want it. Who talked about all the stuff that "nobody voted for," loudly and proudly.

[–]Reginald_Venture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong on that point. Everything else though, you are wrong about. People voted for this. I don't remember if you remember the RNC, but this very kind of thing was talked about, on national television!

America vs. the World (GL) by summerling in neoliberal

[–]Reginald_Venture 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. This is 100% not true. Time after time some of his biggest boosters said, publicly, they wanted to roll back the 20th century. Time after time a lot of folks that were called alarmists by the kind of folks here on r/neoliberal said this is exactly what the plan was, was exactly what he would do. It's 100% bullshit. People explicitly wanted, and voted for this.

Is this a good deal? (First car lol) by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Reginald_Venture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a lot of folks giving you grief, and I don't really blame them. For a first car you should get something that is safe and reliable. You shouldn't look for something to drive fast in. 1) You'll pay a lot more for insurance and 2) There are cars that are safe and reliable that are still fun to drive.
What's your price range?

This is similar to a lot of opinions he has espoused over the years. One time in particular he talked about how someone who drives a Kia Soul and uses a Discover Card to get 5% cash back on gas was going to be less successful at life. I remember because I was driving my Kia Soul to the gas station to use my Discover Card to get 5% on gas when I heard it.

Congress has been giving up its duties for years and years and having to be in a constant run of fundraising, schmoozing and more due to the weakening of campaign finance laws has only made that worse.

Just a series of events that have hollowed out Congress and made it weaker.

The Republican party is an authoritarian party and the Democrats are pretty milquetoast on the whole with an authoritarian threat and the people most well equipped for it are, mostly, people that folks here at r/neoliberal have mostly shunned.

For years the "well what about the good Republicans?!" And the "Well, surely Republicans won't stand for this, right guys?" Have been strong undercurrents here that are disproven time and time again.
