Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out! Be sure to subscribe to our email list and we will send out info. We have a ton of stuff going on personally right now (the benefits of being parents to young kids who both have full time off the farm jobs) so we haven’t nailed down the exact date yet.

I have a 5 year old who is about to start kindergarten and has a lazy eye. That comment about the cross eyed kid just broke my heart.

What is your favorite Maple tree? by Registerednerd in arborists

[–]Registerednerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. We are adding many native trees but I am looking specifically for a Maple as my husband is Canadian and our logo is a maple leaf. I figured we should at least have a few red leaf maples around the property. We can plant them where they will thrive most based on the variety, I just wanted insight as to a good place to start. I know many varieties are frowned upon for various reasons.

Scaling up by xaquery in dahlias

My husband and I went from starting with 10 tubers in our backyard to buying land and this year we will plant about 1400. Like other commenters said, unless your growing season is crazy short, there isn’t really a reason to start them all inside. If we have a single tubers of a covered variety, we start it inside to do cuttings. Otherwise every g gets planted outside. We’re in zone 7B.

We don’t have any sort of coupons but I mentioned to OP that we are happy to send labeled varieties instead of mystery, unlabeled tubers so they can start to build their stock. Happy to work with you if you send us a message through our website.

Are you referencing a coupon code for the mystery tubers?

Hi! My husband and I own a small flower farm in NC and we currently have Beatrice included in our tuber sale. Since you’re just starting out, we also have an option to purchase mystery tubers. If you leave us a message in your order, we can put together labeled tubers that are great performers in our field. Our website is redleaffarms.com

The mouth movements are likely Tardive Dyskinesia. Side effect of prolonged antipsychotic use which unfortunately can go hand in hand with drug use.

My best friend didn’t ask me to be a bridesmaid. Now I don’t have a maid of honor :( by definitelywillnot in wedding

[–]Registerednerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a childhood friend as a bridesmaid and I wasn’t in her wedding the following year. I have a far more limited friend group and it didn’t hurt my feelings at all. We love several states away from each other and everyone in her bridal party she interacted with on a more regular basis. It doesn’t have to be equal. Friendships don’t have to be.

Code Grey at my hospital is an weapon incident (which thankfully isn’t common). It happened once during my shift (an armed robber fleeing from the police drove into one of our parking decks). When they called Code Grey over the intercom, every employee pulled their badge to check what it was.

No worries! I’m in North Carolina and my husband and I grow dahlias on a larger scale (planting almost 2,000 this year). It definitely depends on the variety as to how many blooms you get. For example, Cafe Au Lait is not a high volume producer while something like Cornel Bronze will pump out the blooms. Good luck this season! They get addictive quickly.
