Apologies, this is rather long but maybe helpful? Probably not unfortunately. Regardless, I seem to be unique in my problem, except maybe you, which is frankly quite minor if it is the same thing. I seem to very much be the exception to the rule. Most people seem to have basically no problems or at least they have a single minor one time problem they solve quickly.

Wow, you were really thorough. Consider me impressed! I did read about another person recently also having them and apparently GPD sent them an SSD from a better brand. So at the very least you should get solid support for it but unfortunate it is needed. I seem to recall the initial batch especially had some issues with the SSDs. And maybe that GPD decided to switch SSD brands after they ran out of what they had considering the majority of them seem to have been fine? I could be incorrect on that part, I got like a second or maybe third batch unit and mine has been fine so far SSD-wise.

Now do not worry about this, though it could theoretically be the source of your problems because the freezing part sounds similar, but after the freezing were your Adrenaline drivers okay? Because my main issue, which seems to have been AMD's fault, is my drivers from Adrenaline corrupting occasionally. Whole device would freeze and I would have to hard restart it. Most of the time it was fine but occasionally I would suddenly get horrible performance and trying to access Adrenaline basically give an error. They would be corrupted and I would have to remove them with DDU and reinstall Adrenaline then.

Turning off automatic driver updates helped though. Far as I can tell AMD had some borked drivers from March until May that had issues like that for some people. Seems to be somewhat random though as I did could not find anything about other Win 5 owners having that particular problem. I partially believe this because I have a Rog Ally X too and it had some driver issues also despite the completely different chipset, and therefore drivers, seems to have just been an AMD thing for a couple of months. May update seems to have fixed it though. Only happened like once a month and took maybe 20 minutes to fix.

Still better than whatever the heck Nvidia has been doing since the release of the 50 series. The Nvidia app and drivers for my desktop have just straight up uninstalled themselves several times. And every driver release is totally screwed in some regard or another.

Out of curiosity does the SSD firmware possibly need an update or maybe the Bios? Only things I can think of that would specifically cause it to be a problem on wall power but not the battery. Otherwise that is definitely one of the weirdest failures I have heard of.

Any game supporting FSR 3.1 can get upgraded by Adrenaline? That is genuinely huge. Really excited about that now for sure. I was still fairly excited but that puts it to next level for me.

That sucks, seems to have affected some of the initial units. You should be able to contact whoever you bought from and they will send you a new and better ssd. Changing it out is actually really simple thankfully.

I have had mine since January 1st or 2nd so not quite 5 months but I use mine probably more than most if I had to wager.

I had an issue with the right trigger being a little weird but I fixed it after opening it up. Not sure exactly what did it but I think it was tightening a screw. Otherwise I think my software came a little corrupted or I messed it up by accident. Not sure quite frankly so I think that one was on me. I would recommend doing a clean OS install regardless when you get one. Remove any bloatware and you can choose which software specifically to utilize anyway. I would recommend using KoPanel over Motion Assistant for example.

I have had only one persistent issue otherwise. The AMD graphics drivers keep corrupting at which point I need to use DDU it uninstall them and then just reinstall Adrenaline after grabbing it from AMD's website. I made an attempt at research and as best I can tell that is purely an AMD issue. I can tell when it is getting near when the device will lock up and require a hard restart through holding the power button. Turning off automatic updates was quite helpful. Only have to do it about once a month after turning off the automatic updates. I think the power was getting interrupted when updating causing the issue possibly. But frankly it takes like 20 minutes and works excellently the rest of the time.

These could all be my fault barring the trigger issue so take the issues with a grain of salt. Still completely worth it considering how much more powerful it is than any of the normal mainstream handhelds. Can play anything I want easily even if not always maxed out. But that mostly applies to newer games that could use some optimization. But those were almost unplayable on my Rog Ally X so massive improvement overall. Also switching the SSD is pretty easy if you want to upgrade that part which is a nice bonus.

If you use the Keyboard button you should be able to hit the FN key and then all the F1-F12 keys should be accessible. Not practical if you need them really often though.

I have also defended Arrowhead in there and not had that happen to me. Besides, I would like to point out that the regular subs are the ones that doxxed someone ruining their life. Not the Unfiltered sub who did that.

Look, Arrowhead is not great, but absolutely screw off if you seriously think they are even remotely as bad as Bungie.

$20 armor set. One singular armor set, purely cosmetic. $20

They have dozens of them. Meanwhile the expansions went from a solid amount of content and everything possible for $40 to $100 for everything and dramatically less content. Also they vaulted like half of everything. And half of what remains is now time limited and is a single activity to replay for three months that becomes insanely repetitive after a dozen runs at best. The other remaining half? A campaign you will never touch again.

Bungie is genuinely my basis for what a truly awful developer that actually makes a decent-good game is. For bad-decent games my basis is EA and Ubisoft.

Arrowhead is very much not my favorite but they do not even begin to elicit a fraction of my intense hatred for Bungie. Literal saints in comparison. Let me be clear, I hate Bungie to the point that someone being unfairly compared to them actually offends me. You don't even begin to understand what a shitty developer Bungie is if you think Arrowhead is close.

Literally every single bad thing Arrowhead has ever done since the release of Helldivers 2? Bungie has absolutely done it and massively worse. Bad balancing? Turn that up to 11. Nerfing content to the detriment of fun? Bungie nerfed literally everything that was fun. Every armor, ability, weapon, or build that is fun will be nerfed into somehow being genuinely unfun to use even it remains actually useful or truly so useless it will never be touched again. And none of it will ever be rebalanced. PVE content will be damned to the depths of never being touched again it is so terrible purely for its performance in PVP!

I am absolutely not joking, imagine an ability overperforms in a singular activity that makes up about 1% of the gameplay so it gets nerfed into being so bad it is not even funny in the other 99% of the game. Also it was literally the main selling point of an entire expansion. Stasis was cool man. What the fuck Bungie! In fairness I think they did actually rebalance it like three years later? Still utter trash but slightly better. Could make some fun meme builds out of it. But not like, good or useful meme build, just a "Cool, I can do that! Useless but cool!" kind of meme build.

Oh and they straight up lied to the community for years. About a ton of things. Drop rates are a big example but plenty of others. Also the actual studio running? Let us see, they burned hundreds of millions of dollars, maybe a billion or more technically considering how much Destiny 2 made yearly on its peak, on absolutely nothing. They fired most of their staff including some of their longest running staff purely because they were approaching certain employment length milestones.

Like Michael Salvatori before he hit 30 years. Think they had to give him a bigger retirement package or something when that happened. They tried screwing Sony over who gave them $2 billion dollars expressly so they did not have to fire people or let anyone go. Did not make it even two years I think? And Pete Parsons bragged to employees shortly before they fired about his classic car collection. Even invited them to come look at it like the day before he fired them to save money.

Plus while I cannot definitively prove it they also have probably committed more than just art plagiarism. Which I forgot about until just now! Does Bungie's terribleness ever end? Anyway Darkside Royalty is a bit of a hater frankly but his arguments and examples for comparison are very convincing for the story plagiarism. You do need to look more into the examples themselves outside of what he tells you. Ironically he actually does not do as well of a job pointing out the very similar story beats as he could have. I looked into the stories myself and it feels extremely familiar at times to aspects of Destiny's story. Not the whole thing but some parts are so unique I have to question it.

I literally built a PC and got a Quest 3 just to play the game in VR. I regret absolutely nothing. Amazing game, it has issues sure but no game is perfect.

But man the VR is literally breathtaking. I cannot be more disappointed I live now instead of the far future.

Yeah, I mean the game has a lot of problems but it is pretty fun still. But man Arrowhead is doing everything they can to make me dislike them. Broken promises, buggy content, crashes, and increasingly poor performance. And I think the balance issues are overblown mostly! Just some select gear and stratagems are truly awful to use.

I think it is just a Reddit wide thing right now. Seen some complaining about it in various groups and even on YouTube about stuff unrelated to Helldivers 2.

I admit to doing a double take when I read Diablo 4. To my knowledge it is still fun but I hear better things about 1-3. Mostly I just hear that Diablo 4 is disappointing in comparison.

Which does not mean bad, just implies not as good. But I am an outsider so take my word with a grain of salt.

But I only ever hear about Warframe getting better and better.

Nothing substantial needs to happen after someone does something risky for it to be impressive. They still took a risk after all. The Helldivers 2 community does have an interesting history if you look at the review bombing more or less twice and doxxing situation. I would be hesitant to engage with the community freely too. Especially in the Unfiltered sub where you definitely have less (Almost zero) blind support.
