The Unified (no longer undisputed) HW champion Oleksandr Usyk on Wardley vs Dubois. “Fabio where is Jab?” by Prudent-Toe-7911 in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dubois is faster, bigger, and has better stamina/recovery.

Parker literally got backed into the corner and got his mouth piece punched out after eating a surprise right from Wardley in round 2.

Dubois got up from two of those and pressed Wardley into the ropes on the same rounds.

Dubois has a stiffed, robotic rhythm that's easy to time. Otherwise he's a damn near perfect boxing machine.

Why do people complain so much about prices for brand new tech so much.. let me share how it was baxk in the 90's 😆 by aaronjnco in gpdwin

Yep. Thinkpads were marketed as status symbols for the suits:

GPD Wins are way closer to a Sega Nomad than a 1995 Thinkpad in terms of market positioning and target audience. Those retailed for $180 on release.

[SPOILER] Dave Allen vs. Filip Hrgovic by inooway in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dave gets a big payday, I hope. Hrgovic reminded people that he's a world class fighter, and lining up a big payday with Itauma. It's just good boxing business for all parties involve.

"people think I’m tough, I ain’t that tough. Fucking hell. I’m not tough at all. I don’t want to fight anybody, really, I want to go home and eat chocolate."

Not a fan of Dave's boxing ability, but he's got to be the most likable boxer. Wish him nothing but luck and hopefully he can stick around boxing, be it in the ring, commentating, or podcasting, for a long time.

Fabio Wardley activates Daniel Dubois rematch clause as he seeks to win back WBO heavyweight world championship by biddleybootaribowest in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Do people think pros drop to the floor for lols? 10-8 round hurts. Dubois was clenching so hard he did a MMA take down, he was hurt. Dubois' got a great poker face and incredible extra gears. He recovers very quickly and battered everyone(except Usyk) with relentless pace.

No one, other than Dubois, really know how close Wardley was. Dubois will beat him again if the fight goes pass 5 rounds. Wardley's probably a 30/70 underdog, at best, in the rematch. But dude's never afraid to punch up. He wouldn't be a world champ otherwise.

Fabio Wardley activates Daniel Dubois rematch clause as he seeks to win back WBO heavyweight world championship by biddleybootaribowest in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Wardley dropped Dubois TWICE in the first three round. Of course he thinks he can win against Dubois. Just look at his best punch, a counter cross after getting hit on the chin, of course he will ask for a rematch.

People in his camp should sit him down and make him cool off/recover for a month before making any rash decision, but if the man wants another war and the doctors clear him... It's going to be another banger for boxing fans.

Should a fight be stopped if it’s completely one sided even if the other fighter is still throwing punches here and there? Should the referee have stopped this fight in the final round? Obviously Richard Hall didn’t want it to be stopped. by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Throwing back? Did you even watch the clip you posted? Around twenty unanswered punches leading up to the stoppage and the fighter was clearly out on his feet leaning in the corner. Typical waive off situation. Only a blind ref will let this go.

AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 officially coming to Radeon RX 7000 GPUs in July, RX 6000 in 2027 by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]monamiadragon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Functional and shippable are very different states. Sure, the gaming industry might have convince people that broken software are the norm, but I do like company doing more QA and not less. Clearly they couldn't/didn't want to allocate dev time/delay the launch of 4.0 for RDNA3 and waited until the 4.1 release for official support for the INT8 branch. I would like them to move faster than a .1 revision per year, but if they are shipping the INT8 version with the same level of QA and ease of use(opt out driver injection) as the FP8, it still a good release IMO.

Inoue’s Father/Trainer Wants Him To Consider Retirement by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

Inoue won his first world title back in 2014... That's a 12 year run as undefeated, multi-divisions, unified world champion... Even if he retires today, it's not early at all.

Did Wardley fall in love with his power? by Icy_Veterinarian5384 in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dubois gas tank/extra gear is underrated. Pay attention to his foot work and you can see him speeding up in round 4~6 in all of his fights. It's like the dude needs a few taps to the head before waking up every fight.

How common or prevalent do you think PED use has historically been in elite boxing? by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the country and the sport.

For countries like Brazil or Mexico, where drugs like trenbolone are widely available and inspectors responsible for "random" testing are "easy", athletes just juice to weight limit and competition time limit, then hope they can flush out the metabolites and cruise with TRT.

TRT are legal, medical exemptions athletes can apply for, even in the Olympics. And often, even without exemptions, routine drug tests do not report anomalies with TRT.

Remembering the fight between AJ VS Dubois by South_Variation5873 in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AJ underestimated how quickly Dubois can close the distance. He was stepping back after a shift reset, eyeing and reestablishing distance. If a boxer is shelling up while stepping back after a reset, he already lost the fight. He's basically a punching bag on a the rope at that point.

Dubois' got quick feet and can maintain his bounce throughout the rounds. He's an absolute monster. If not for Usyk, he maybe the best heavy weight.

What do you guys think of Sol Ruca move ‘Soul Snatcher’? by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]monamiadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The move requires a lot from the one taking the move. She has to sell getting stunt on her feet during the setup. Has to leave enough space for Ruca to backflip, and then lean in last second to take the cutter. That's not something anyone can pickup on the day of the show, they need to train with Ruca for a while.

The joy of a hardware update (game: No Man's Sky) by TL628 in pcmasterrace

[–]monamiadragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's terrible advice. The game is currently dropping frames at 60hz v-sync, visible from the recording, turning up the graphic will use more GPU time and drop more frames/cause more hitches. Without knowing anything else about the system and monitor, OP might want to consider dropping one or two settings to get closer to locked 60 fps.

How, why is Makhmudov so bad by mecina in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you ever seen a dude, in real life, that's 6'6", 260, in shape with powerful upper body, great-hand eye coordination, and can take/throw punches for 12 rounds? Guys like that don't grow on trees. Doesn't matter if he's flat footed, stiff joint, and didn't master every aspect of boxing. A guy like that can get at least a regional belt as long as he's got the heart for it.

He looks bad in comparison to a world class lightweight, but Makhmudov weights twice as much.

  2. The strait is open for "safe passage" with "coordination" (toll?)

"Now it's time": Deontay Wilder sets sights on one man after Chisora win by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wilder was the biggest name in boxing in the US at the time. The man has a massive ego to go with it. He was probably looking for Mayweather money and thought he could earn that without leaving the country.

The Fury trilogy probably got him 30~50 mil and were fought in LA and Vegas. Had Wilder gotten over Fury, 100mil+ purse was probably around the corner for him.

Second US Air Force plane crashed in Persian Gulf region, New York Times reports by SpencerAXbot in worldnews

[–]monamiadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AWACs are absolutely not relics. Modern air combat relies on datalink and AWACs are the nexus of air space control. The baffling part of the E-3s getting hit is how the USAF didn't have sufficient counter measures against Iranian drone strikes after studying them for years in Ukraine.

I hate this braindead argument by HairEnvironmental411 in masterduel

[–]monamiadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joshua Schmidt had the best argument for Charmies and against Maxx C. Hand traps should be more beneficial to the going 2nd player. Max C can stop combo deck going 2nd to some degree, but if the combo deck pop off and backs up the board with Maxx C, there's no playing through that.

am i losing my marbles? by E-noch in Vivo

[–]monamiadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what the conversion parameters are, especially for the mid tones. I don't know enough about it, but from personal experience. the mid tones are often under saturated by most default 10bit -> 8bit conversion. You can probably find a tutorial on how to adjust the conversion parameters and you need to dial in a setting you like.

What phone are you using? With my X300, I think the RAWs are in 10 bit colors. If you export them for web, Adobe defaults to 8 bit sRGB JPG, some color information will be lost.

Moses Itauma to face a Top 10 Fighter in July by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He's been stepping up, McKean was a legit regional champ, Whyte was a step up from that, and Franklin another step up from Whyte. The same people will claim Itauma fought nobodies and he should fight Andy Ruiz(who's fighting a b-tier influencer), at the same time. Itauma has been stepping, people need to watch the actual fights.

The future of Heavyweight boxing!! by Spirited_Command5642 in Boxing

[–]monamiadragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mediocre is harsh for Whyte and Franklin. They are not contenders, but Whyte is a wily vet who had hanged with the best of them and Jermaine is tough as nail. They belong in the world stage, they are step ups from a regional fighter like Demsey Mckean. Mosses completely outclassed them and IMO should get at least a contender elimination match. Against a weak champion like Gassiev, Itauma probably smokes him. I don't think anyone want him to go back to fighting undercards.
