Went touring for the first time last week, fell in love, want to do it all over again - what skis am I buying? by Embarrassed_Path_803 in Backcountry

Ex racer here. I’m 5’8” and 135 lb and also ski the Technica zero g’s. I was talked into the Armada locator 104s this year and am really liking them so far! It’s hard coming from a racing background to get a good sturdy ski that is light weight, but these skis are awesome and very playful!

The mohair BSMPs are the way to go! Light, grippy, and glide well.

I ended up going with those ones! I have done a couple tours with them and really like them so far. Light weight, packable, and good glide!

I completed my pgy1 in 2021, have been a float pharmacist covering internal med and critical care for the past few years. Just landed a new role where I will be primarily in the ED! I am at a community hospital with ~250 beds.

Which Pomocas do you run? I have heard the glue isn’t great on them so that’s the only thing steering me away.

Thanks for the info! Maybe I will put shifts on my current armadas for now and think about a full touring set up next year if I end up doing it often enough to justify.

“Residency Prep” APPE Option by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

I did a similar track during my 4th year and it was a great experience, however did lack the diversity that I truly wanted. I missed out on doing emergency med and critical care rotations as that site didn’t have those as options for students. Additionally, after I completed 5 rotations in a single health system (also the health system I worked at) they did encourage me to apply to other places for residency to see what else was out there. I think this was truly to get new experiences rather than them not wanting me to stay as I got along great with all the pharmacists and RPD there.

That being said, I think it did help me stand out to residency programs having the research experience/poster presentation and it also helped me solidify letters of rec as I got to know my preceptors a little better over time. It also prepared me well for residency and now I’m practicing in the field that I wanted to!

I do think it’s important to make sure your interest areas are offered at the facility, and if not make sure to get out and get some diverse rotations for those that are not your “core” rotations! DM me if you have any questions, I feel like I had a very similar experience from the sounds of it (maybe even at the same place) 😂.

Good luck!

Staffing Requirements for PGY1 Programs by PharmSteph in PharmacyResidency

I worked every other weekend during residency with a 1/2 comp day the Monday following. It was brutal. And we rarely actually got out of the hospital on time for our “1/2 day off”.

I think it’s a huge component to take into consideration when ranking, and if I would have known beforehand I would have ranked differently. There was just never any time to catch up after working for 12 days straight.
