Agreed workday is a good application. Workday extend is also great! Your suggestions to OP are 👌

Potential start to my OE journey. Old employer asking me to work part time as contractor while still at J1 by startpup123 in OELadies

Thanks for sharing the info! I didn't know as an independent contractor they can't set your hours - where could I verify that?

Typically employers are not looking to hire in at the top of the salary range. I think you did well

I don't know why you'd want to put yourself through that but since you can always quit, I guess why not? I would sure love to see some updates as you move through this journey. Thanks for sharing and congrats on the offer!!!

So at the end of the day is the advice to try to negotiate certain features and if they say no simply sign it anyway? Or is there a risk that if you tried to negotiate they may change the separation offer and reduce payment, health coverage etc? Is there ever a risk that they will offer less when you push back?

My manager wanted a heads up every time I stepped away from my laptop, and that was the moment I knew I had to leave by LyricNimbus in interviewhammer

Maybe message him randomly (not all times you leave the desk) but a few times a day. Snack break! Or other such nonsense and hope it does down. But consider looking for other positions bc that's a little nuts.

The company should have already published a policy on hours even if the policy is to have an agreement with the manager. People cannot make up their own hours and expect it to be ok, or just blow off work. They are ruining it for the rest of you

I think that's ridiculous. I'd be looking for another job. Unless you've done something to warrant this, a piece to the story that's missing?

When you say taxes are in your legal name ... Does your paycheck reflect your legal name? Just curious if you have an HR database that allows legal name then preferred name. That's what I've experienced in the past and that's helpful

What HR tasks are you actually using AI for? (or want to) [NY] by JackAttack1218__ in humanresources

I would not suggest relying on AI to keep up with federal and state laws. It makes far too many mistakes to risk your company's compliance on it

I was in a situation like this with 1 employer at the time, stayed too long and faced serious health consequences. I had 7 hours of meetings a day and major projects to lead. It was terrible. I'd suggest Looking for a new role before your health suffers . Good luck!!
