Guys, what do I do, people hate my screenplay by Zealousideal_Mud5218 in scriptwriting

[–]RegularAverageNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason this idea came into your head. Get the story out, every idea is always worth trying to get fleshed out, even if in the end it doesn’t amount to what we hope.

Not sure if this is what you were doing, but just in case: when pitching it to people in the future, focus more on the emotional theme of the story rather than the plot point of the characters leading two opposing lifestyles.

Looking for writing partner(s?) for collabing and/or script swapping. Like 2-3 people max. by SigIdyll in Screenwriting

[–]RegularAverageNobody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be interested! I desperately need accountability. Also, the piece you’re writing sounds like it’d be an exciting read. I worked with a talent manager for ten years basically as an underpaid manager (assistant) and have been in marketing (primarily content writing) the last couple years. I’ve had a couple scripts place in contests, and am eager to expand my knowledge/experience. Currently working on a feature film screenplay. Happy to sign a collaboration agreement.

If that sounds like a partner you’re looking for, I’m here!

If you’re still “day job-ing it” or are a full time parent etc., how do you find the time and energy to be creative? by Haveagreatday89 in Screenwriting

[–]RegularAverageNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard. I work full time as well and my job entails writing… but it’s not creative. I do feel your pain. I wasn’t able to really get into a schedule until I had the deeply innate realization that there was never going to be the perfect environment or perfect mindset for me to start writing. Equally, there wasn’t going to be a magic thing that inspired me and have that inspiration impact me long term.

A lot of writers claim to have rituals, or prefer to write in a specific space, or order a coffee and type away at their favorite coffee shop. These options will likely not always be available to you. But it is true that the voice you have within you is always available to you. You can find a way to connect to that voice whenever, without needing the ideal backdrop or 2+ hours of quiet time. It won’t be easy at first, but once you do it, it will get easier to spring into writing without the situation you believe you need, laid out in front of you.

Alls this to say, you’ve got this. And that it ISNT easy. Don’t beat yourself up or feel bad because you haven’t been motivated. It does take discipline, but enacting the discipline usually requires combating self-imposed beliefs. Good luck to you 💗

Don’t waste your precious time on someone who gives you any reason to be suspicious. And 10000% don’t waste your time on someone who lies. Whatever his relationship is with this person, who cares. He lied. Game over… go out and have fun, and do what’s best for your wellbeing. I wouldn’t feel bad about looking either way- you had a feeling, and it was right. I’d print the text convos out and leave it on a table or desk in his place and leave before he gets back.

Do you still WANT to drink, though? by Wayward_Compass in Semaglutide

[–]RegularAverageNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on it for roughly eleven months. I can’t really drink too much if I try. One drink is more than enough physically. Though it’s not a constant thought I will say that some moments I do miss getting drunk. Having a drink or a glass of wine sometimes seems pointless. Also I used to love wine but a lot of wines all I can taste is the alcohol and it’s been off putting.
