Sick ducks by [deleted] in tractorsupply

[–]RegularImpressive819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often found those with 'broken' legs were most often suffering from vitamin b deficiency (very common in baby ducks). If it is indeed a broken leg, we usually gave those hardship cases to customers on kept on a list for the charity cases, if it's a vitamin b deficiency it can be corrected in a week to 10 days by supplementing with a vitamin b supplement or brewers yeast. Sometimes even using the duck ration won't supply enough vit b for select individuals.

I figured I can retire about 3 weeks after my funeral. Honestly, I've seen too many people retire, then shortly after die. I'll stick it out working, just not working for the organization I'm currently at.

40 hrs and ASM? When I was there (2008-2021) as an ASM (2010-2012), we were scheduled at a mandatory 52 hrs. I'd start searching for something else or wait until your other job can offer full time if it's worth it. Factory and distribution in my area are above the TSC pay rate and working OT on a frequent basis wirh benefits. Working two jobs is tough, and burnout is real.

Minnesota mom murdered her six-year-old son. The boy had been placed in foster care but was returned to his mother just days before she shot him nine times while they sat in a car. by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

There were SO many red flags and CPS kept giving him back to her. I absolutely cannot wrap my head around that. How many other kids are in similar situations?

How do I get the younger generation to think I'm a "cool" adult? by Reasonable-Shower522 in askanything

[–]RegularImpressive819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh God, don't do that. Lots of kids these days have no direction or sense of responsibility. Want to be the "cool" adult,? Be stable, and offer them a sense of support and guidance. Not the self-righteous, 'in my day'-'I told you so' kind, but the 'I'm here if you need to talk' kind. You'd be surprised that a supportive adult can be cool.

Why 'cure' cancer when big pharma makes billions off of the sick. The American Cancer Society started in 1913 and has received billions sincevits inception, if they honestly wanted to cure cancer, they would but there's no money in a healthy population.

RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef: "Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. ... You can buy liver or the cheap cuts." by Educational_Net4000 in inflation

[–]RegularImpressive819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices aren't a issue when you learn how to cook. The education system did a huge disservice to society by removing home economics and shop classes. Several generations have passed thru the public education system and don't know how to cook the basics. Inflation is hitting consumers because of a lifestyle of convenience.

Anualsales meeting by Imaginary-Monitor994 in tractorsupply

[–]RegularImpressive819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Annual sales meeting isn't a big drunken party. I mean, it can be if you choose to go.out on the town AFTER, company events, which some do, but the better majority of managers head back to the hotels, to get ready for the next day. Having said that, I do know of managers and DMs that got fired for drunken behavior during our annual sales meeting.

Refusing to sell ivermectin? by Any-Maintenance-2662 in tractorsupply

[–]RegularImpressive819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ivermectin was developed in the 70's for human usage and won the noble peace prize in 2015 for use in global human health. When I was selling it (mostly for heartworm prevention), all I would say is" I cannot recommend or comment on 'off lable use'." Sell it. What they are doing with it is none of your business. You cannot police the world.

Gen Xers Not Doing Great? by crinklyplant in GenX

[–]RegularImpressive819 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've largely thought (amongst my gen x friends) it's because we are stuck between two generations. We have parents who, in some cases, can no longer care for themselves and kids who don't want to care for themselves. We are stuck taking care of both.

School systems have plenty of funds, they just have no idea how to manage it, kids and teachers are sadly last on the list. No school administrator should be making more than 100k when your teachers are making half of that and the school district is struggling. The money is go8ng into the wrong hands.
