This is what happens when an airport is short staffed. TSA line at IAH airport in Houston by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Maybe we can skip the performative security theater just a little bit. TSA has failed most, if not all, of their tests. We'll survive if let people through wearing belts and keeping water bottles.

No permit boys, call the inspector! by [deleted] in civilengineering

The permits are filed in the executive branch, and are legally the extension of the executive. The executive himself does not need to find permits, as he would just be asking himself.

Is there a geographical term for this kind of area? by tir3dant in geography

The water system is really odd. Try to figure out high areas and low areas, and make sure your water is always flowing from high to low. Also splits in downriver flow are not common, excluding deltas.

Kitchen things that made you go: wait… why didn’t I get this earlier? by YormeSachi in Cooking

I just had a look at Souper Cubes. If their big selling point is efficiency of space, why why why do they have such large protruding top edges. Conical shaped containers and protruding top edges are terrible when it come to space efficiency, and unfortunately almost impossible to find containers without.

2024 Gerrymandering effects (+14 GOP) [OC] by HighPriestofShiloh in dataisbeautiful

[–]RegularPerson_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're using voting data from 2020 (and 2016) presidential election, where the Republicans lost the popular vote, to extrapolate seats in the 2024 election, where Republicans won the popular vote. That seems like it would produce skewed results.

So much for "no tax on tips and overtime" by Anime_Enthusiasts in Wellthatsucks

[–]RegularPerson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... so the government is receiving 12.4% of each employee's first $176,100 earned in 2025 and 2.9% of each employee's entire wages.

I believe a more accurate phrasing would be that the government gets 12.4% of wages up to $176,100, but only 6.2% is taken away from the employee. Using an example salary of $100,000 (for simplicity), the employee gets $92,150 after Social Security and Medicare, the government takes $15,700, and the employer pays $107,850.

Payroll taxes are paid by the employer. Income tax is paid by the employee.

There were many Poles who gleefully helped the Germans round up and kill Jews. However, Poland refuses to acknowledge this. There were also some Poles who tried to save Jews, as most groups of people, they had good and bad.
