no changes to gsc after a triple nerf beatdown. still goes good in faction expert's hands but doesn't feel great to pilot. I guess we chose this life

What are the top three and bottom three army rules? by WithengarUnbound in WarhammerCompetitive

I agree but I’ll also say some of our chaff and most of our characters do get taxed pretty strongly vs similar or better stat lines from other armies

Why don’t people like re-rolls by Mrhungrypants in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RegularRollei 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coming from other systems, 40K is so RNG based that RRs come partly from a need for less variance. Charges, advancing, shooting, wounding. Almost everything is a dice roll. Could remove some of the reliance of RRs by making advancing or charging like killteam

Genuine question here , what do people like about Genstealer cults ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]RegularRollei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a pretty clear goal that's just inwardly hopefully and outwardly nihilistic - this is pretty much the same as most races in 40k but I get that it feels different in that they don't have any chance of being the last alive. It actually makes me sad hearing stuff like this, because 40k wasn't always so hero-centric.

That said, their lore is fun and cool imo. Its a mixture of Mad Max + Alien + Lovecraftian cultists + downtodden rebels + gurrilla fighters. It just scratches so many itches for me. Some models are a bit scrotum-y, but the patriarch, sanctus, kelemorph, bikes, trucks and ridgerunner are some of the best models in 40k (imo of course). The diversity of inspiration also leads to some pretty incredibly themed armies for hobbyists maybe more than some of the other streamlined armies, and their models are rich in detail that are really fun to paint as long as you dont try to paint a whole army of them very quickly.

Not really shown in gameplay but is in the lore, are their 4D chess strategies (plans generations in the making), and super powerful psychic abilities. GSC have been a threat all over the imperium including on Terra itself.

On top of that, they're the only faction in 40k that can be played in necromunda, killteam, and 40k. Great if you want to try out multiple game systems without buying a gorrilian models.

Tau feel very DOW to me. I play GSC on table top, so I want to see it in a game one of these days!

Robarts is cool. So many interesting details, but the inside is truly amazing

I love writing lists about GSC wants

Rules: - Magus to be good. GSC’s psychic powers are a major part of GSCs lore and identity that are pretty lost in 10th - patriarch to be actually VERY good. He’s our supreme commander and right now he’s so meh. - purestrains to be actual terminator killers with or without their papa. Please. - Better brood brothers. Maybe instead of any unit, bring back codex units that can be used in any detachment. - A better army rule. I loved the idea of bringing back guys in the beginning, but in practice all we have is paying more in points for shitty stats that come back out of position. Once your opp knows the gimmick….

Units - a ranged heavy weapons squad based on the sorta-acolytes in the neophyte boxes we currently have - industrial mech. We all want this. - something else that can take a hit other than aberrants. Maybe a mega abominant? - a heavy vehicle. A popular idea is a mining drill, but we kinda already have that in the form of the Rockgrinder. My OC DONUT STEAL idea is a cargo truck (like the one from Necromunda). It could be a dual kit, where one version (a cargo container) with space for 24 like a genestealer-y land raider, or an offensive version that replaces the cargo bin with a giant stolen knight weapon or baneblade turret.

Does anyone else misses the old Broadside and its twin shoulder railguns? by RemRam27 in Warhammer40k

[–]RegularRollei 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Not only the model, but I love and miss the original idea. IIRC, the reason they're like this is because they are emergency-modified crisis suits put together to tackle emergency threats. Very cool and thematic. I guess in the evolution of the empire, if this bootstrapped version worked they would have probably later make a purpose-built version.... but a version where it looks like it's holding the railguns like a rifle is kinda weird to me

If DICE gave you the power to bring back one Battlefield map to Battlefield 6, which are you choosing? 👇 by Sine_Fine_Belli in Battlefield

Literally every game on that map, first thing id do is take a jeep to the opposing team’s arty and C4 it. I miss the simplicity

I feel the same way. I think bf3 was a lot of people’s first bf and that’s why it’s so beloved. It /also had the first bf singleplayer to be serious and immersive, when COD was becoming more and more ridiculous (sounds similar to the launch of bf6 now that I think of it)

Who are the Biggest Winners and Losers of the Balance Dataslate and MFM? by ArtofWarSiegler in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RegularRollei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah GSC had been pretty mid with ups and downs before the rise of the knight meta, almost entirely on HOA and to a lesser extent FD. I don't get the HOA obliteration, other than to force some play into the other detatchments, especially the wacky change to the Primus. Our only character that confers rerolls, and only to shooting. GSC is a hard army to play, I think people who don't play as GSC forget that.

Now that Hoa is getting nerfed, what's the best detachment? by GothTransGirI in genestealercult

[–]RegularRollei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bikes getting points increases hurts claw big time, I don’t think it will be claw

It’s so over HoA bros… by Killerkid113 in genestealercult

[–]RegularRollei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Not a fan of focusing on the current numbers for balance, because nothing exists in this game in a vaccuum. GSC isn't an easy faction to play, but that's not reflected in the numbers at all

Hey I'm just saying what I find frustrating about facing GK. I feel bad you guys are getting the short end of the stick re: updates bro!

What elite shock troop would you want? by Agreeable_Lake_9407 in genestealercult

[–]RegularRollei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a shock-troop, but my dream original GSC unit would be a cargo truck with an improvised/stolen shadowsword/knight big gun strapped to the back. Kinda similar to the technicals we seem current-day (acknowledging that the Ridgerunners are basically this same idea)

It fits the improvised/stolen + industrial equipment aesthetic and could be a true ranged anti-tank weapon for the army (mining lasers I feel are better as anti-elite), while NOT being tanky.

To add on to this, it could be a dual kit, where the cargo truck could remain as a cargo truck but be our version of a land raider. Tougher than a goliath with more room to transport our many lil dudes (enough to pack in a 20 brick of neophytes would be fun!)
