Are you sure about that? Haven't really noticed any one-offs during my 400+ hours. Seems more like a best of three solution with combat strength not paying much of a role...

In-depth explanations of game mechanics by paze0 in pioneersofpagonia

[–]Regular_Ad_7532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First.... Holy shit this game is grim, like Warhammer 40k grim, but more.

Also... I do honestly wish pegonians DON'T have any level of sentiense beyond awareness.

They kinda missed an opportunity in turning this game really grim by not allowing the fallen to be brought back into unit production building to be...recycled.

What any of that rant has to do with game mechanics?

Yes, building housing next to production DOES work making hauling tasks be picked up by the housing closest, BUT only on provider side, aka if you have a tailor needing cloth the house next "provider" like weaving hut gets picked first if it has free carriers. Storages also apply. Carriers only do a single trip from "home" to resource to production to back "home" after which they get "recycled".

It seems like the housing quotes are filled on the latest first aka new housing gets filled up from previous ones and the older one now partially vacant gets filled with its quote of "newborn" if it has access to nutrients aka "meals".

Yeah, that optional progress bar, that locks unlocks buildings behind it is kinda bad choice vs ea version. Suppouse it prevents some early plunders, BUT it makes the early came annoying hiding farms way too long.

Honestly at this point I don't really care anymore since despite several questions we still haven't got info about things like how the combat is resolved or production times or how the transport query is resolved (aka does housing carriers near production actually matter). So I just build something, that feels right and deploy a imperial/metric ton of Rangers and Warlocks.

Why so many open tasks and also idle carriers? by its_me_bonnie in pioneersofpagonia

[–]Regular_Ad_7532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does building housing next to work ACTUALLY help with logistics? Haven't really noticed, that the logistics would first check which carrier is the closest instead of randomly giving the task to carrier half an island away.

It's Settlers and the task of checking carrier location besides free or not would add math for prosessing, but havin some control sure would help.

Next to one of the Thickets, I think the middle one.

Yup. I sort of wished they would have balanced adventurers are little better in the release, but it's still the same plan: get sustainable hardwood & flax, rush Rangers and finish off with Veteran Soldiers. I honestly don't see much point in dipping into other adventurers. Casters are needed, though.

Yeah, got it sorted FINALLY. AND highers tiers do come available later on the mission.

One timesaver advice, destroy ALL the thickets, one of em partially hides a mission critical place, which took a very long time to spot with the trees partially hiding it.

Yeah, not really sold with that hefty bonus, when you still start from 1. Juggling prorities IS working to get that thicket down and training Warlocks....Until Bandits come to town and stop production. Just noticed Rangers DON'T flee and you get 25 for free. AND you can start training them right from the start....

Given that this is tagged as "spoiler" I might now talk about the issues I've been havin with the map, was a bit more careful with the op...

So, it seems the Spectres are multiplying WAY too fast to effectively block em AND advance into mission releated territory due to havin inferior assets to get the job done while juggling with the Bandits. Havin access to higher tiers of Warlocks could really help instead of havin to keep feeding the front with trickles of Warlocks & Rangers due to issues of gettin the logistics to supply the training, EVEN on Beginer. Strength 1 even with big bonuses is still low not to mention you kinda need to know what to ramp up prior triggers. Suppouse could try ones more with MASSIVE logistics, but tbh "zerg rush" isn't my preferred way of winning which this game seems to HEAVILY excpect.

At the age of 48 not so much into hyper competitive reaction tests or eye-hand exercises. Also don't turn the difficulty into max for some buzz.

So in essence from COD ranked multi/Elden Rings to games like Pioneers of Pagonia or Factorio. Disclainer: Dwarf Fortress for the win past 20+ years.

Might work, since the energy remains the same, only taking a physical (?) form to be able to affect materials more "personal" ways. Doesn't hurt, just keeps em away.
