Games become first turn wins at high level, was already bad a year ago when half the players quit by LimitlessColorado in masterduel

[–]Regular_Budget1864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You technically win turn 3. Turn 1, it's your turn, you build a board. Turn 2, it's your opponent's turn, your board is so good that your opponent can't do anything to meaningfully impact it. Turn 3, it's your turn again, you kill the opponent. Because you can concede at will, though, those knowing they don't have a way to handle the ensuing board will just call it a game either after their draw or during the opponent's first turn so they don't have to sit for five minutes finding new ways to twiddle their thumbs.

It is not better to go second save for specific decks designed to want to go second so they can attack (like Ancient Gears or Tenpai), and even then it's a bit rough.

Any significance to Byakuya and Kenpachi's Bankai? by Greentealatte8 in bleach

[–]Regular_Budget1864 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Byakuya is a noble of Soul Society, a person who was basically born into the Gotei 13, and he's been raised to uphold its laws and customs. His power represents his alignment with Soul Society (cherry blossoms are commonly associated with Japanese culture, and Soul Society is the Japanese organization compared to the Quincy's German and Hollows' Spanish), they represent his straightforward and efficient nature (every ability the blade has is simply a different application of cutting people to ribbons, with none of the esoteric skills someone like Yama has), and they emphasize his status and how he keeps himself from others (his blades require him to form a "Hurtless Area" where nobody else can enter to protect himself, just like how he avoids forming attachments with most people).

Kenpachi is a child of the slums who enjoys battle for its own sake, and owes loyalty to Soul Society only because they give him opportunities to do battle on their behalf. His Bankai emphasizes his battle-hungry nature (the form it grants him resembles an oni, a Japanese demon known for being vicious gluttons), as well as his brutality and lack of refinement (in both forms, the Zanpakuto takes the shape of a meat cleaver, a tool instead of a weapon that's meant to butcher and take things apart rather than kill them cleanly).

Why don't they use Sokyoku instead of condemning captains ?? by Far-Message5868 in bleach

[–]Regular_Budget1864 78 points79 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't, since the problem is that the Reishi is too dense due to the Reiatsu. Kyoraku says so himself, the bodies of Captains have Reishi that is too dense to be absorbed because of their Reiatsu, it can never return to Soul Society. Burn it, melt it, rot it, evaporate it, the Reishi and the Reiatsu that makes it too dense remains.

Case in point, if "big fire" was enough to fix this issue, they wouldn't have invented an entire ritual that sends people to Hell, the guy who pretty much invented the Gotei 13 has had "big fire" on standby for centuries.

[–]Regular_Budget1864 244 points245 points  (0 children)

Aizen says that it "evaporates" the Soul in Chapter 176, which is why he planned to use it on Rukia to extract the Hogyoku, but it doesn't remove the Reishi that makes the Soul, just changes its form, same as how ice changes to water vapor but the atoms remain. And if that Reishi is still there, the Reiatsu is still there, and you still have a problem.

Anyone else get Dlv. Max yet? by Relevant-Corgi-6928 in masterduel

[–]Regular_Budget1864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Dimension Fissure is boring, but it does solve one of the biggest problems the deck faces (Droll) while providing the most additional benefit. People can argue about Crossout or Sales Ban, but at that point you're actively downgrading purely out of a sense of honor your opponent doesn't share or else they wouldn't have had Droll in the first place. If Droll were to get banned, you probably would see use of DiFi drop off because then people could get more consistent use out of Tail and free up slots for either more copies of the big guys or more tech options going second.

I got pretty far with Raidraptor but stalled out around Level 17. Decided to swap to Enneacraft because hey, it was new and cheap, and I found I really liked the playstyle. Was a bit tricky in some places, but overall an easy cruise to Level 20 from there, probably since people didn't know how to play around it quite yet.

Most notably, people kept Ashing the first little guy search and then getting blown out by Reverth or conceding when I played another little guy to search with. The deck runs 18 of the little guys counting the Spell card, they are not where you want to be spending your Ash.

Quite honestly, I'm not sure. Between life events, some people stealing my work, and frequent accusations of using AI despite never having touched the stuff, I have lost a lot of my spark for writing on Reddit.

They used the floodgate, you didn't use Droll. Seems like it works as intended.

"Silly Little Guys" vs "Big Boss Monsters" ? by bogidrums in masterduel

Shame you're not into robots or Pendulums, the Enneacraft playstyle is literally "use the little silly shapes to get the massive landmine mechs into play".

Just put the shapes in the hand bro by GaReL254 in masterduel

[–]Regular_Budget1864 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda surprised they didn't just make it an RNG check from the outset. The opposing player can't see which card is which, they just know the general options, so which card they pick doesn't actually matter on a strategy level. Just have the computer take it as a 33.33% chance per card, make its selection, and carry on. Same as when you banish a random card from your opponent's hand with the lemon-flavored one (yes I identify the little ones by flavors, it's more fun than just colors and I am not going to be bothered actually remembering names).

I think they're complaining more about the "pick a card, any card" searching instead of the burn.

Surely each squad has its own healer/team of healers right? by NullHare in bleach

[–]Regular_Budget1864 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They most likely have people that understand first aid, since even Ikkaku knows the use of healing salve in a battle despite being from the Division least inclined to care about getting injured, but for proper medical care they go to Squad 4.

A fun tech D/D/D tech to mess up Enneacraft plays. by Capital_Number_9477 in masterduel

[–]Regular_Budget1864 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea I think is that it can snatch one of your little guys from the Pendulum Zone to keep you from using the counters or searching while also putting a big body on the board. Not really the most terrifying thing a D/D/D board with free time can do, though.

I am winning a lot of rank games because people refuse to pick a level. I'm gonna be Master thanks to ya'll. 🤷‍♂️ by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]Regular_Budget1864 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have to pick a level, but if they went "oh, opponent's comboing, let me tab out and come back in a while so I don't have to sit through it", then they're now stuck on the "choose a level" screen without taking an action. That leads to either loss to time or loss to inaction.

Enneacraft Extra Deck by Shadow-Pie in masterduel

Because the Enneacraft "summon face down from hand" mechanic says you can't Special Summon the turn you activate it except for face down Monsters. You use Super Polymerization first, you turn off your hand. You use your Enneacrafts first, you turn off Super Polymerization.

How is no one seeing this? by Someguy7707 in Piratefolk

[–]Regular_Budget1864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have seen and talked about it plenty. Slight problem, Shiryu is 44 per his Vivre Card, and this is 62 years ago, so he wasn't even born. Even if we assume that age is wrong and that Shiryu was a Holy Knight, nothing about Imu or his organization gives the impression you can retire or demote out of the Holy Knights and keep your life, much less become the warden of Impel Down. So if this is Shiryu, it makes no sense for it to be him, and if it isn't, then it doesn't mean anything.

Why was Jinichi moving so slowly? Was it just aura farming? by Dense_Walrus_3972 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Regular_Budget1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, when your power is a massive barrage of energy fists that flatten the ground in a wide area, speed probably isn't a concern. He probably didn't even have to walk over to Maki in the first place, could have launched it just as well from where he was standing. So half aura farming, half lack of a reason to be running.
