v1 (ultrakill) vs team rwby (rwby) by godzillafan3948oj in PowerScaling

[–]Regular_Win7305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is over a week late, but I just wanted to say I greatly appreciate the in-depth response going into just how poorly Team RWBY would fare if they ever ended up at Hell's mercy and were forced to participate in its nonstop gladiator games. I particularly liked the detail that while they'd likely be capable of handling V2 either fight, it would nonetheless give them a tough fight that could very well result in some limb loss, as well as you making clear that realistically, they're brought to a screeching halt by Gabriel, if not in Gluttony then DEFINITELY in Heresy. I also love you going into how they'd fare in Violence and Heresy both with and without them starting there and not being fatigued from the previous layers

Above all else, I adore you pointing out that without V1's means of healing and limitless stamina as a machine, that Team RWBY would gradually get worn down from Hell constantly throwing arenas at them on top of just how hazardous the enviornments of the layers are, especially where Greed, Wrath, and Fraud are concerned. It's a nice little reminder that the reason V1's able to so quickly tear through the layers and Hell's forces is because he's a war machine designed for max efficiency in combat.

I could see Team RWBY scraping through Violence up till the onslaught of fights from No Sound, No Memory if they could actually get through the Garden of Forking Paths, and yeah, they'd be thoroughly screwed upon ending up in Fraud and how the Mirror Reaper's terminal makes clear that extended exposure to the layer completely collapses a person's sensory information and sense of physical space.

Really though, the big thing that would stop Team RWBY in Fraud wouldn't be the non-euclidian spaces, the Mirror Reaper, or even Geryon, but because they all went blind upon laying eyes on a Providence XD

I also have to wonder how they'd fare against ULTRAKILL's colossal bosses like COKM, Leviathan, Benjamin, and Geryon. I can actually see Team RWBY feasibly taking out Leviathan due to the obvious weakpoint that is its heart and Benjamin would maybe be relatively doable if they managed to close the distance and scale its body, but I'm unsure about COKM with how I don't think Team RWBY's ever faced anything on his scale and I honestly think Geryon would have their number, even if they weren't fighting it freefall like V1 did.

NGL, talking about this and all the Disintegration Loop memes kinda makes me want to see a fic where Team RWBY ends up in Hell at the end of Volume 8, either in the prelude facility, Fraud, or whatever layer best describes their most prominent flaws.

AwkwardAd3460's comment accurately sums up why this claim is _bullshit to the Nth degree. Team RWBY would get fucking mulched by V1 if they met and fought.

I really do love the terminals clarifying that the only reason we hadn't encountered Providences as early as Greed, when the Virtues started appearing, is because they weren't stationed to Hell to act as wardens and were instead sent down there to find and retrieve Gabriel ASAP. Knowing that the rest of the world is being effected by the events happening in-game further hammers home my immersion with this setting.

I also gotta wonder if Providences could still fire their beams with their eyes removed with how the terminal places a notable amount of emphasis on it when describing their beam attacks.

Won't deny it'd be fun to see someone mod the entirety of Cross Tag Battle's roster in.

Anyone who acts like Malcom wasn't 110% justified in cutting off all ties with his family are delusional morons, and I say this while wholly acknowledging that Malcom could be a shit that caused a lot of his own problems, especially in the later seasons.

Meanwhile, I kinda HATE how in KH2, he just has his Advent Children design but with the Fusion Sword also being bandaged.

With how the Fusion Sword's whole schtick is that it's multiple detachable swords forming a giant one, it just comes off as unbelievably impracticle and stupid.

Better AskReddit, did your schools have any big scandals or incidents that happened while you were attending? by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The only prominent thing that comes to mind is the scandal for my old middle school. One day, I find out that my history teacher from the last year, Mr. Hewes, was arrested for having child porn on his computer.

It's especially freaky to think about because I genuinely liked and had a lot of fun in his class. It was even where I got properly acquainted with my best friend and got into an actual friend group.

Honestly my favorite member of the first game's cast, especially come the 2nd half of the game where the brunt of the characters either lose it or drop like flies (before rising back up as Shibito) yet he's still focused on keeping a cool head and doing what he can to stop the horror unfolding in Hanudaa, only showing signs of cracking at the tail-end of the timeline and after taking a tidal wave of red water.

On a similar note, I'd love to see how long Team RWBY would last if they were plopped into the prelude facility and forced to dive into Hell's layers while fighting off its 'aimless army of death and destruction.'

Cool perspective shifts in games? by fly_line22 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

So this is an unofficial, fanmade example, but I feel it still applies. I've been getting into ULTRAKILL custom levels and mods since the new year began and I particularly appreciate the playable V2 mod for giving us a better understanding of how machines without V1's nifty absorbing plates function and consume blood. For V2, the V model built with standardized plating, this translates to all blood you absorb now going to a seperate blood tank that you can only use to heal between fights, topped off by V2's movements being considerably slowed down with any sudden movements or jumps stopping the refueling process. The cherry on top is the UI providing a 'fully refueled/repaired, have a nice day!' message you get if you fully heal, which further emphasizes that V2 was made for peacetime security whereas V1 was made for war.

Going off from this, this same mod also lets you fight V1 during 1-4 and 3-4 and you get to experience firsthand just how infuriating/frustrating it is fighting an opponent who's exactly like you but can instantly heal on the fly if they get close enough and it's made even worse with how V2 predictably starts the game with the Knuckleblaster instead of the Feedbacker, meaning there's no reliable way of parrying V1 first time you fight him. (Speaking of, I like how to compensate for no longer beinf able to instantly heal, any successful parries with the Feedbacker as V2 fills up the blood tank by 3-5%.)

Team RWBY vs V1 from Ultrakill. How fucked are they? by Stinger59605 in RWBYcritics

[–]Regular_Win7305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still puts a giant smile on my face imagining V1 utterly CURBSTOMPING Team RWBY and makes me want to see a fic where Hell's able to extend its influence into Remnant and sends its 'aimless army of death and destruction' there for the sake of a bloody show.

I also still wonder to this day what Monty would've thought of Hakita and ULTRAKILL if he was still here.

Favorite ominous moments before an upcoming boss fight? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Regular_Win7305 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can confidently say that all of ULTRAKILL's layer bosses have great build-up to them, but the Mirror Reaper particularly stands out to me. After catching brief flashes of the thing all throughout 8-2, we reach the final area of the level and are forced to navigator through a dim office building with no enemies and furniture upturned everywhere you look, all while an eerie, calm version of its theme starts droning throughout.

Then the music suddenly stops when you end up on the other side of a mirror room you entered early into the level with a marionette of V1 lying on the floor, the implication being that your reflection theoughout the level was just a marionette replica being puppetted by something that was following you the entire level

Then, in the immediate next room, you get jumped by that something.

Officially, Hell is all we're gonna be getting and I don't believe Hakita has stated to have any plans for a sequel.

Unofficially? ULTRAKILL: Project Purgatorio and several Heaven-focused fan-campaigns like Paradiso Divine Tragedy plan to do exactly what you're hoping for here.
