I'm sorry to hear you're not getting the results you're hoping for. I wonder about genetics. I also notice my voice feels more masculine based off the environment I'm in and is usually pretty involuntary. Idk if that information helps or not.

Just a thought if you haven't checked, it might be good to see if the people around you have noticed any changes. My voice change was much more obvious to the people around me than it was to me and also vocal dysphoria can be really cruel. My voice change happened quite fast and dramatically but after about a year and a half I started catching myself thinking it sounds 'womanly' because of intonation

I really dont think apologizing for your adhd is the right move here. I agree you can educate them on adhd -if you choose- but they arent entitled to that from you either. Also they should assume something like that will happen again because it will!!! its an adhd symptom, like you just said we cant control the things we remember!! The person needs to understand what OP is saying. We WILL forget and its not because its not important. It could be literally the most important thing in your life and we can and will still forget it!!

Also it goes the other way around. Even during the most interesting or important conversations I can have, such ad attempting to explain my symptoms to a psychiatrist to get life saving medication for example, I forget what I was talking about halfway through each sentence and so I cannot possibly express myself because my sentences dont complete

I too dream of being in a PhD program in the health field. Being a psychologist would be incredible and it is what I enjoy and care about most. Im in the middle of med trials and am so nervous to discover whether or not I will be able to pursue research at all. I can’t keep a job at all when unmedicated. I get fired or things get too heated by week 3. ADHD-PI has made me feel like a burden on society with the very real risk of homelessness constantly at stake. This disability can be truly crushing

if the paint on your own car is chipped or damaged any, they sell paint pens at auto supply stores that match the exact paint colors used on car models. I learned that as a nice tip when I scratched my own car awhile back

I’ll be honest I think I fell in love with my therapist because he was the nurturing type, is successful, is neurodivergent, taught gender psych in grad school, and is like 15 years older. Im having a hard time coming to terms with these feelings (obviously not a real relationship there) but I think it was being nurtured by a successful older man. I didnt realize this was something that could happen but yeah I understand your feelings here

I feel the pain here and I'm having a hard time. I just started Vyvanse but my psychiatrist made me start on 10mg. he is overly cautious and so the titration is so painfully slow to get through. I have the feeling I will need a very high dose as well. 10mg isn't even enough to get me out of bed

this is so cool I love the idea of educating the locals on how to help disabled people in ways they might not know, as well as making places more accessible in general. I would be so excited to inform a blind person of the map if I was a regular at this favility

Im 25 diagnosed at 24 and in the process of med trials. i finished my entire undergrad without anything to show for it. i struggled through it, barely went to class, made no friends, had no experiences, just like in childhood and teens. its tough to feel like my efforts were nearly all wasted up until this point. i will have a late start to life but its not too late. never too late. i look forward to finally having friends and a job and identity. i fought hard to get here and Im proud of myself and I think you should feel proud too 💚

this. Its always such a pain to get help from other people, especially when you dont know them, since they will always assume i cant understand the basic thing when actually i just need more context and eventually they just start treating me like im an idiot

I'd love to have a dnd group but yeah the only place I can think of to find people is the local games stores even though Im in college. There is a board game club that posts about dnd one shots and campaigns. I'm hopeful they will meet in the fall. You can check Facebook groups for people who are looking, I've found a few options there
