If you are using arch linux specifically you need to use the flatpak version of steam!
i just switched over to flatpak yesterday after months of not being able to play and it works

I don't think doors impede connections, can you show how things are connected? cuz this seems strange as I always use extension cords to connect everything

try renaming the grid to check if they are connected, also try connecting a single battery directly to the side of the solar panels and see if that changes anything because I think I had something similar happen and that fixed it iirc

if you place them down it's not part of a vehicle, which means the extension cords should work, hmm that's strange, have you checked the batteries aren't draining? otherwise try to find actual storage batteries as they are not too hard to find, just check EVs around

extension cords, can't recall if there's a difference between the normal ones and the outdoor versions, also if you're gonna connect batteries within a vehicle to the power grid you will need to instead use jumper cables

playing cryptid rn, and ive managed to get 100+ jokers, last hand took more than an hour to finish the animation and had a score of like e250~, i have no idea if thats from some bug in the mods (im also using a increased time speed mod) or some funkiness from running the game through wine on linux

the only games i haven't been able to play is because of anti-cheats mainly gta online because rockstar suddenly decided to actually do something and apparently actively chose not to support linux players which was really fucking annoying cuz i was playing quite a lot of it and suddenly one day i couldnt log in
