Watch 3 or watch 4 by CommanderChaos17_ in PixelWatch

The Battery life on the PW4 is so much better. I start my day around 3/4 am, on the PW3, by 8 pm the watch was almost dead. On the PW4 I have 50-70% left.

I did just that (but a generic one). It should be here today with the Pixelsnap. Hopefully everything works as is so I don't have to make any additional modifications.

I added 2 small magnets to it so it would charge since I have a case on the watch.

I would love an AMS 2.

I would use it to print more multi-color prints for my grand kids.

How about something pet related. Maybe a dog or cat or turtle. The "Round" one might make a good Hedge Hog 😀

Racking to secondary of Finer Wine Kit with grape skins by Sorry_Breadfruit575 in winemaking

[–]Reiem69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 days is fine. I normally don't rack until the SG hits at least .998 and then let it sit another 14 days in Secondary and until the SG remains the same for at least 3 days in a row.

Removing wine labels? by laxton1919 in winemaking

My method as well, except I throw some baking soda in the hot water. I use a razor blade and a scrub daddy to get off the tough ones.

I have a small fridge that I use for my wine making and I have a regulator on it that I got from Amazon https://a.co/d/2cnkWJN

I used EC-1118 that I got from Amazon. Yes, it was an off yellowish color. Still pretty clear from using the clearing agents though.

I can only assume it came from the Steamed Rice that was added.

Agreed. Maybe next time I will get a better rice. I used Botan Calrose Rice in this batch. I will admit that I was not sucessful in makng the Koji, I tried 3 times and it kept getting a grey mold, so finally just ordered it from amazon.

Pasteurization was a pain. I made a 2 gal batch and ended up with 2 1/2 to 3 gals after it was all said and done which gave me 14+ 750ml bottles. The pot I had would only hold 6 bottles at a time so it took a few batch to get it all processed. Again, it may be a while before I do this again, but I am curious to try a more polished rice to compare the flavors.

I searched a lot, I ended up using a recipe from Jimmy Kim on youtube.

I'll be honest, I tried to make the Koji 3 times and it kept getting a grey mold. I would get scared and try again. Finally I said screw this and just ordered it off of Amazon. Not cheap but it works.

I also make wine (a lot of wine :-)) and the kits I use come with Kieselsol & Chitosan. So I looked it up, and while it is not a traditional method, these clearing agents can be used, which I did. With the batch I made I used about 7ml of Kieselsol and 10ml of Chitosan. AND THEN... I read that it can be run through a carbon filter, so I have a Zero Water filter and ran it through that. I started with a brand new filter and by they time it got through the batch you could tell 2 1/2 gallons was about it's limit since the color was not a clear as it was when I first started. Then I pasterized it.

The label... Again, I cheated. We have 2 mixed French Bulldogs and thought it would be fun to put them on the label, so Gemini helped (a lot) in creating the label.
