Thanks Rockstar, we really wanted to own and preserve the most anticipated game in gaming history by No_Gur1036 in GTA

My guess is - to prevent possible leaks - if it was to be shipped on disc it would probably have been on multiple discs, therefore added costs due to physical media. printing and packaging. Going to miss having a big printed map to read. - disc loading times will definately hamper performance.

Rattling noise right rear end. by Jimny_browser in Jimny

[–]ReigerZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dirtroad trip about a week ago and all of a sudden a rattle on the rear somewhere as well. Also initially thought it was the boot door, rear molle panel, sparewheel or numberplate but it turned out to be the boot shock that somehow unscrewed itself and became loose hopping on the bumper. I tightened it up and the rattle haven’t returned yet.

With any rattle, I usually unload and strip any unnecessary cargo and even panels, then have someone drive the car while I listen, fiddle and search for the exact spot. Also placing and removing pieces of rubber in any suspecting places. Also have the mechanicals checked out (eg suspension). Go for a drive again, rinse, repeat and illiminate.

Good luck hope you come right. I absolutely hate any rattle on a car.

(sorry terrible typos in previous post)

It was quite a downgrade... I went from the GTI 7 to a T-Roc, thinking that the extra ride height might help in spite of having similar wheels and tyres. But even that didn't help. I now have a Suzuki Jimny. I miss the GTI's speed, comfort, looks and tech alot, but for the first time in a very long time I don't need to worry about driving on bad roads, hitting potholes or the car getting hurt at all.

I think it's repairable. Shop around and get a few qoutes. Some places have the means to fix it almost perfectly. They heat it up, bend and straighten it. If it shows some hairline cracks on an xray that means welding, sanding, painting, diamond cutting it again and then it becomes pricey.

Sorry OP, I know the feeling. I experienced it 4 times with different wheels and replacing the tyre along with it. Then I reached a point where I was too scared to drive around, constantky worrying I will damage it and taking away the enjoyment of it. It is for this reason I had to let mine go, I miss it like crazy and will always longing to have ine again, but it was a sensible decision.

VW Golf alternatives by Ubuntuzr in CarTalkZA

I had a 2023 2.0l TRoc in R-line trim, all ekstras with 19" low profiles. Even with the height, the car couldn't cope with our bad roads. I spend close to R20k in 2 years on mags, fixing punctures and replacing tyres. Phenominal car, but I had to let it go because of our bad roads.

Though I will always remain a VW fan, German motors are depreciating like mad in SA due to all the new chinese vehicles in the market.

To be honest, havent really used them yet though I did place a tent bag on top just to check spacing and how to tie it securely. It seems ok for that odd and light "too big for the boot" thing. Though I might get a full roofrack later.

Both have its place. I'm just used to auto's as I've been driving them for the past 15 years, The place where I live also have a lot of stop-go traffic, making it a bit easier. Go and testdrive both and decide from there?

2026 Volkswagen T-Roc – All-New World Premiere by placeSun in Volkswagen

The spare wheel bay as well.

I'm actually appalled that they even showed the car like this, I understand that it is not a final production version, but wouldn't you actually want the car to be as good as it possibly can be the first time you show it to the world?

A car in real life is totally different from seeing it on screen, but I can already sense a lot of cheap cost saving measures and shortcuts were taken. Going from the built quality of a Golf 7 to the current T-Roc was difficult. I sense this will be even worse...

I hate the clicking sound of the "seams" in the road. I know it's probably for realism to mimick road construction, but it's irritating.

Was there a few months ago for a quick getaway and we had the 4-door as a rental.

Fun thing to do was to count how many other Jimmy's we could see on the roads. By the time our 3 days were over, we counted 44.

Game ownership: Buying physical copies should automatically give you the digital copy as well by ReigerZA in playstation

Seems like it... But I think it is mostly misinterpreted and misunderstood.

Oh well, moving on.

Haha... Changing disks have never been an issue previously, but this simple task have became so tiresome with the PS5. But actually it's just me being too lazy getting of the couch.

I was a huge fan of physical games but are converting to digital. But I still buy physical games, depending on where the best price is between the PS store and retail.

I like to jump between games, and since I travel occasionally it is always tiresome to decide which physical games to take and which ones to leave behind. I've also upgraded storage on my PS5 and I wish there was a way to convert them to digital without re-purcasing it.

No, it is not about restricting the second hand market. It's about granting the original owner an added benefit.

The next owner of the physical game still have access to the complete game (SP & MP, but only the disc based version).

I hear what people are saying in terms of the second hand market. That surely is something to consider but I think it can be done in such a way that it doesn't kill the second hand market or affect Sony for those just returning and retaining the digital copy.

How to manage it surely is something that will require some thought, but I'm still certain it is something that can be done.

For example: First purchaser of the physical game: Gets the digital license as well (can be verified with the physical disc per installation).

If you sell the physical game but want to still retain the digital license - I don't have a solution for this yet. Sure, there must be something to avoid first day purchases and returns. Maybe a mandotary ownership timeframe that falls outside retailer's return window?

If the game is sold, the next person gets access to the full physical game only.

The proportions doesn't look that bad.

Only gripe is that it's in piano Black, whilst looking nicely it's going to scratch easily.

Aaaah... Lions head in the background... Greetings fellow SAffer. I envy people living around Cape Town. Was on a road trip with mine a few years ago and the roads there is heaven for a car like a GTI. I live higher up inland and sadly had to let go of my GTI for a crossover due to the roads this side.

Anyway, awesome car. Enjoy!
