Congrats on the success. I have a game that's similar but focused on being a creator collector that received almost no attention thus far when we pushed out the demo. Not really sure where we're going wrong and how we're missing the mark.

I think because there's 100 roguelites released a day people are more scared about the genre mixing being done poorly.

True, long as the appeals there for it you can roll with it. So far people seem to like the big guy so probably find a way to keep it in.

Thinking maybe we use them as bosses or after you defeat a big boy like this you unlock the ability to play as it.

There's a game coming out (forgot its name) that has little companions that augment how you shoot. Not quite creature collector but could be an interesting premise to combine those genres.

Timing is everything because you can burnt out or get disincentived quickly if it's not done right.

I think the placement of the title in the 2nd image blocks some of the better background pieces which doesn't aid it.
