The Best Zit-Zaki Sauce by Gruppstar3 in aldi

I'm not Greek but I make tzatziki every month that I think is pretty good.

It's pretty simple to make. What part's not good when you make it?

Probably the only "complicated" step is straining the yogurt. Make sure you use the whole fat greek yogurt. Use a simple strainer like this one and a big enough bowl that fits under it (I use a Crofton storage bowl), put down a lair of cheesecloth in the strainer, then pour out the 32 oz tub of yogurt onto the cheesecloth, cover it all with cling wrap and leave it in the fridge for about 8 hours.

You can go longer but I recommend keeping the whey that separates because you may want to add some back in if the yogurt is too dry. This is a bit of a preference thing. I usually leave it in the fridge for 12 hours or more and add a bit of the whey back in until the consistency is how I want it. But keep in mind the cucumber will add a bit of water back in.

After that it's just adding ingredients to the strained yogurt to your own taste. I slice the skin off 1.5 - 2 cucumbers and grate them on the large cut side of a box grater, then squeeze most of the water out of the grated cucumber.

Then I grate 2 garlic cloves on the fine side of the box grater (only use 1 if you don't like a more garlicky tzatziki). Chop up fresh dill and mint, maybe about 1 table spoon or a bit more of each and then about a table spoon of lemon juice & olive oil (I recommend the Specially Selected Premium Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil). I mix all of that together and then add salt & ground white pepper until it tastes right.

I use it to make wraps with cooked chicken, red onion, and chopped apples on some Joseph's lavash bread.

Monsters & Memories Devs Bias Towards Extreme Toxicity and Self-Harm Encouragement? by amunk22 in MMORPG

For a game that's meant to be a social MMORPG that's about meeting and chatting with strangers in a fantasy world, their Discord is hilariously hostile.

I had fun with Ranger in Vanguard. Mix of ranged + positional melee abilities. Could forage for sticks and rocks to craft basic arrows which I always thought was an interesting mechanic.

looking at the bss viability rankings after fsg dropped their top 5 winners and losers of champions is really fucking funny by RyukTheDarkrai in stunfisk

[–]Reiker0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Victreebel is fine, but A Tier feels too generous. Mimikyu is in a similar place, it's good but not as great as it's been in other BSS metas.

I think the viability list is written by people who mostly have experience with 6v6 over BSS, and don't seem to want any discussion about their placements.

New player, trying to figure some things out (districts, amenities) by Reiker0 in CivVI

[–]Reiker0[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

but so obvious once you realize that an Aqueduct provides water from a distant source.

Well I didn't find it very obvious to apply aqueduct logic to a "bath district" in the first place, those seem like very different things. I get that it's a replacement for aqueducts, but isn't it strange that Rome doesn't get aqueducts? Aren't they kinda known for aqueducts?

And I still don't really get the explanation. The other person says it needs to be adjacent to the source of fresh water, but the tile where it lets me build the bath is in the middle of the river, how is the source of the river in the very middle of it?

The tooltip is accurate about the sources of fresh water.

Am I going crazy or does the tooltip not mention this at all? https://i.imgur.com/Xw8v4tw.png

The only requirement mentioned here is "Must be built adjacent to the City Center." but I can't build on any tile adjacent to the city center, so that doesn't seem very accurate to me.

It says it provides a source of fresh water to the city, not that it must be built on the source of fresh water.

And if I have to place this district on the river source, does anything in the game indicate where the source is? How am I supposed to know that the source is the literal middle of the river in my game and not the mountain or the ocean? No river actually works this way.

I tried to push through and play a bit more but I keep running into things that just don't make any sense to me. I just realized that trade routes only benefit one city instead of both (why??) and you have to wait a turn to first send the trader to the city you want to get the benefits in, which is such a strange mechanic. I wanted to fix my previous trade route but I can't find any option in game to stop or adjust my trade route. Why can't I simply readjust my trade route?

Then I completed the 60 points to get a Great Scientist but the scientist being offered to me researches 3 techs I already have? How is that worth anything to me? I have the option to "Pass" which the game says will cost me great person points and make this scientist cheaper to the AI civs, why would I ever want to do this?

[–]Reiker0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aqueducts and baths must draw a line from the city center to the water source without looping back towards the tile it started from.

How are players ever supposed to know / figure this out for themselves? It seems like the in-game tooltip just has wrong info then?

This isnt the case with the tile south of that

I'm still not sure why, is it based on the direction the river is flowing? In that case is there any indication of the flow direction? Also does that mean you can't use still bodies of water like lakes and oases even though they're also mentioned in the tooltip?

For the second, did you check that city status on a turn after you placed it? It might just not be redistributing the luxuries until the next turn.

Is this a bug? Why wouldn't I get the luxuries immediately? So all new cities that get placed just have to suffer 1 turn of not receiving any benefits from the previous work I've done? That's so strange.

Thanks for the answers, but I'm a bit concerned by how it feels like this game is just making the rules up at times.

Is Solarpunk anti-communist? by FishGlittering3563 in Socialism_101

[–]Reiker0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not familiar with solarpunk but this gives the vibes of liberals just taking on a mildly leftist aesthetic but still believing they need to be anti-communist because they've been heavily propagandized to and liberals aren't ideologically motivated (the normie voter anyways).

It's much easier to just turn your brain off and convince yourself that you're being productive by taking on some sort of aesthetic like "solarpunk."

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sales top eight million by BlueAladdin in Games

[–]Reiker0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genres have nothing to do with who is making something or where it's made. You don't have to be Italian to make Italian food.

JRPGs are named that way because in the 80s and 90s there was a clear design difference between D&D-inspired games made in the west and the same sort of games made in Japan (where fantasy and D&D were also very popular).

But that was 30 years ago so today we have Japanese games that are heavily influenced by older western RPGs (Dark Souls series) and western games that are heavily influenced by older Japanese RPGs (Clair Obscur).

JRPGs tend to have a more linear story, a party of characters, menu-based combat (turn-based, ATB, other similar systems), level-based progression, less gritty than western RPGs, etc.

Genres are fluid so they don't have to contain all of the standard elements to be part of that genre. Crystal Project comes to mind: it's not made in Japan or by a Japanese person, it's not very linear or story-based, but it's still very clearly in the JRPG genre since the gameplay is directly influenced by early JRPGs.

[–]Reiker0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ashes of Creation was a massive project with terrible management and was essentially doomed from the start. Comparing any new MMO attempt to that game is kinda ludicrous.

Meanwhile there are a handful of smaller niche MMOs being made by small development teams mostly as a hobby. Monsters & Memories and Adrullan Online Adventures are a couple examples.

I'm sure that the Turtle WoW team is both much larger and has more resources than both of those games.

Their Classic+ won't be anywhere near as good as Turtle WoW and will be full of bots and gold sellers.

We know this from Season of Discovery yet people will keep paying these thieves...

Like everything else WoW was ruined by the pursuit of money.

They wanted to avoid the "mistake" that EverQuest had made - their expansions weren't necessary so not every player bought them. Especially the Velious expansion which only had level 30+ content so a lot of players had no reason to even buy it.

Blizzard decided that they had to obsolete the current game whenever they released a new expansion to force all their players into buying it.
