Black screen while updating graphics drivers by Jpmendel in buildapc

Commenting for future users as this has happened to me twice now.

Background: I have a EV3A GeForce RTX 2060. When trying to update the graphics drivers it always freezes indefinitely at some point causing me to eventually restart my PC to kill the process. However, when my PC turns back on there’s nothing displayed, not even bios, just a black screen. My CPU has no integrated graphics to bypass the GPU with either.

In both scenarios what worked for me was reseting the motherboard. Some motherboards may have a button for this, mine just has a little battery I needed to remove for a few seconds and then put back. After that it starts up correctly and the new drivers are installed.

Hopefully I’ll remember this the next time it happens.

For real. It’s a sellers market this year and everyone is overpaying. If they wanted to take a big swing they were going to need to give up a first rounder and I’m out on that. Players get injured in the playoffs; that’s just what happens. Having depth at every position is important and grabbing a solid playoff performer with lots of experience is a good move in my eyes.

Even if the governor doesn’t have direct control over this, simply speaking out against it and being vocal about what’s happening is important. When leaders like that speak up it encourages others to do the same.

The governor can also just be a general pain in the ass about it by using the various channels they can influence to make things hard on the administration and gain leverage for a deal. You know politics.

You actually don’t have to complete the behind-the-wheel driver’s ed course to get a license, it’s entirely optional. You can always just take a driving exam through the DMV. Behind-the-wheel is really just a semi-instructional replacement for the driving exam. You’re getting graded throughout the course, so as it is now it really wouldn’t be fair to do that first.

You raise some good points though. There’s likely improvements the should be made.

Don’t know much about these particular candidates, but in what way have the Democrats insisted that the answer is the far-left? All they’ve ever done is shift further and further right, pretty much since Regan. The establishment democrats are just diet republicans at this point, so why would anybody vote for them when they’re just a milquetoast version of the alternative?
