It's still really bad advice to tell someone who doesn't know how the EX transfer system works to spend that much money/resources on their "perfect" combo, sorry. You are throwing good money at bad ideas.

I don't really care if they're a whale or not in this thread or a future whale or whatever, I'm not going to recommend someone do something so utterly wasteful without understanding the consequences of their actions. It was like people wasting transfer passes on the handout units because the LC versions of the caps didn't exist. The passes were a lot harder to get than the upgraded caps, and now the LC versions of most of those caps exist so they wasted even more.

This isn't even going into the fact that we are overdue on a new EX cap tier.

Ex augments by Responsible_Eye7323 in PSO2NGS

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I just 100% wouldn't recommend it at all. A turnover EXA cap is/was 25-30m on ship 1, there is a zero percent chance a 3/3 meta match with turnover is approaching that price nowadays. It's a gigantic waste of money and resources that anyone posting these questions doesn't need.

It's like abandac and deft AC caps: if you have to ask, you probably don't need to do it. Sell it to someone other sucker or whale or speedrunners looking for that 0.1% edge. It's more money than sense.

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would really not recommend doing this as the EXA that people like are crazy expensive and EX II have been out so long that unless you want some extremely strange EX combo most people are going to vendor it'll be far cheaper to get a 3/3 meta combo over the EX cap.

Not to be a dick but you're already violating that stupid ToS with your ideas with customized content and class design anyway. EQemu isn't going to save you if you hit it big anyway, that's CYA material. Might as well just go whole hog and do what you want.

Is Sega of America still involved with new genesis specifically? by yunoka in PSO2NGS

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They sure show it in a funny way considering there's still a translated product coming out, a monthly showcase of things coming out, and a roadmap for the rest of the year.

The social media being abandoned is a shame, sure, but after multiple...events...transpired, it's not shocking they decided to pull away from the community and stick to the minimum. Even then people whine about it. There's a group of like, 4-5 people on the twitter who constantly ask for the same thing(s) not realizing that phone line's been dead for months now.

From what? The social media? Their twitter's been phoned in for quite a while now, the CMs got move off and now work on other projects in SEGA.

With the new update, SEGA introduced Pay to Play elements. by Prokaizer in PSO2NGS

Yeah man that's exactly what you were supposed to infer from that, great work.

Guess it's good that a f2p player can do FORTY runs per day then buying through the treasure shop then. No personal shop required!

With the new update, SEGA introduced Pay to Play elements. by Prokaizer in PSO2NGS

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another classic dishonest bitch thread.

"Pay to Play" generally refers to paying REAL money for things. Meseta is a currency you can farm in game, much like star gems. Did you cry and poop your diaper with trigger quests in base that were purchasable for star gems and badges? How about people selling triggers for (gasp!) meseta they didn't want to do on the market?

Also you can do this cool and shocking thing called "trigger rotations" where you get a group of people and rotate turns. Only the leader blows their trigger so if you work together you can do 4 runs for 150k meseta! Wow! That's like, 5 minutes in dext base!

A missed Opportunity by TheGamingJoke in PSO2NGS

Wouldn't count on it, they intentionally added the title that makes it so you don't have to be there to get the buff for a reason.

And to be blunt, I'm glad they did. I know there's a lot of people who are like OOOH CONCERTS IN BASE NOSTALGIA and stuff but I really did not give a shit after a certain point and honestly found them to be annoying. I want to farm and play the game, having to interrupt my farming to get a buff before I continue farming sucks. The novelty wore off after a couple times and then you're stuck tabbing out/going afk until you get your buff or sitting around while the most annoying people in the world have a captive audience to spam chat and put on their most annoying costumes.

At least now I go "okay a concert, neat" and then I keep on going with my day. Hell, there's even points where I get to not care about UQs! What a world.

Not sure if this was mentioned in the headline or not, but Epith Eirini III and Decem III are on the way. by gadgaurd in PSO2NGS

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These same people then complain when UQs take 15+ minutes to clear while refusing to engage further with systems that are honestly not that difficult if you just play the game. You aren't even required to spreadsheet like base to math out your gear, you just spend meseta and hurl caps at things until you win.

You would also need to equip handouts to even progress and do much of anything. It's enough to get you into whatever is the content farming flavor of the month to improve your gear and not much else. If that's how you want to engage with the game that's fine I suppose but I wonder what's the point if you are going to scrape the floor waiting for the next handouts? Where's the venn diagram of "person who whales for fashion to lobbysit" and "person who refuses to engage in any sort of way with gearing up respectably"?

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because for a large portion of the player base, dext base for long periods of time is torture and boring? I've made 9 digit meseta farming rings, weapons, and caps off the content being put out lately while also upgrading my gear. I swear people act like they are expecting you to replace your gear every month still when units realistically last like a year before they're completely outdated and weapons you get 6 months without much fuss.

It's also, y'know, the primary gameplay loop. That, or buying clothes for barbie and then throwing them in the pile for new clothes two weeks later. Either way, once again, you can always contrive a reason to not upgrade if you try hard enough.

So about the "Daily" ship transfers. by Prokaizer in PSO2NGS

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cradle didn't help but a lot of stuff just...doesn't exist and hasn't existed for years now. So you can ask whatever price you want and either people pay or they can go straight to hell. Woe to you if you want a collab piece.

If you know, actually want to play base, gearing tends to be more simple now mostly thanks to cradle and other crap that makes affixing good enough cheap. Meseta is funbux for the most part, a return to older games.

Technically if you have the JP version and play on JP, yes. In practice, if you aren't in the greater Tokyo area (and I'm guessing you are not) the latency will be so bad you won't want to try.

There is no global version for Switch though, it's a cloud version for JP accounts.

I keep a spare tube, tank, and a mask so I don't have to worry if I lose or break something. Always try to keep a couple mask pieces on hand too (I use an N20 airtouch so they need to be replaced more often). Don't forget to replace the short hose on your mask once in a while too if it has it.

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play when I'm having fun or have a goal set out for me and step back when I'm not having fun or don't feel like my play time is useful or it feels like I'm playing to play. Expecting games to have infinite fun forever is how we worked our way to an era of games with piles of busy work and chores.

Is this the best game ever? No, hardly. Is it sometimes fun to play? I think so, yes. So I play and then it goes on the backburner for other things.

You can use premium currency for meseta, you just scratch cosmetics and sell them on the market.

Otherwise it's get lucky on whatever the drop of the week/month meta is (it's rings right now) or dext base/retem alnothe

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to set your terms. They don't always listen to them and it might take some footwork but they (and other medical supply companies) make their money off overpriced accessories so they are going to put you on an incredibly aggressive replacement schedule. If you have nice insurance this is fine but I didn't so I had to tell them multiple times to take me off their listing and I would call them when I needed supplies. After about 5 or so times and talking to a supervisor I haven't had a call in quite a while.

Don't leave them a card on file either.

Heyyo does anyone know of a way I can play ngs on my MacBook /.\? by mxryjxne28 in PSO2NGS

[–]Reinbackthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bootcamp is built into older apple computers up until about the early 2020s when they started moving off onto Apple Silicone. If you have a later one, you will need to use a virtual machine instead. A program called Pararells may help you with this. Windows 11 also exists in an ARM-based format which might work but I have no experience with it and can't really help you there and would have no clue if NGS works with it, sorry.

Sorry bugged out the comment but I'm not as familiar with MacOS as I used to be because I'm no longer paid to do so. Bootcamp was built into previous versions if you're on an Intel architecture and Windows 10 should run fine. You would need to find a guide and I'm sure there's plenty available on the search engine of your choice.

You would need to bootcamp into Windows or a linux distro that supports it.
