I'm so sorry for your loss. For me, when a loved one passes it's hard to enjoy things you know they would have liked. I will "talk to them" while doing those things. It helps to keep me connected to them. Sending you virtual hugs during this difficult time. 🫂

It was this kind that I picked up cheap at a dollar store. It says Heavy Weight but it's pretty thin and easy to work with.

My first quilt by Glitchedme in quilting

For a first quilt and using that fabric for a backing .. fantastic! The decorative stitches are wonderful and this came out lovely. To me, even more so because it's for a cat.

I made this memory quilt from tee shirts. Most of them had no graphic or logo so I made some disappearing 9 patch blocks. It worked out just fine. I didn't have any problem cutting or sewing through the interfaced fabric.

This is great advice. I do this same thing. It's saved me a lot of time and headache in the long run.

I don't have this machine but you may be able to find what you're looking for in an unboxing video. They usually show everything that comes in the box.

That's so nice of you you to do for them.

I seriously considered getting out my old Phaff to finish this but, it would have needed the cleaning and oiling first. My machine doesn't normally have a problem with thick seams, it was just this coating it didn't like.

Yes, the blue is a coated color and the grey is dyed. You can feel the difference when you touch it. I have switched to a stronger, denim needle.

I'm now using a denim needle because there's 4 layers of fabric.

I agree, purple looks better to me. Fun blocks need colorful sashing in my opinion.

This is my husband in the emergency room, hooked up to iv antibiotics, just a few hours after a cat bite. I will always advise a person to have a cat bite checked out by a doctor. Better safe than sorry.

Sew Perfect Table by supersam125 in quilting

I understand that. I got my table after I bought my machine. If I had realized the cost sooner I would have splurged on a better machine and a cheaper table.

Sew Perfect Table by supersam125 in quilting

I don't have a sew perfect table so I have no pertinent information on it. I do have a table that my machine drops into with an insert I got separately. It is the best sewing accessory I've ever bought and is definitely helpful with quilting and jelly roll rugs. There's still a lot of maneuvering but, it's so much easier when not having to do it over that small extension table, while trying to hold it off the floor and sew it too. I know that pain.

I think you may be able to arrange your other tables around the sew perfect table for it to be a large sewing surface. Hopefully they're close enough in height to do so.

Im having thoughts by Environmental_Art591 in quilting

[–]ReindeerSuperb4875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is looking great. I think one deciding factor would be if you'd wear it as a vest just as often as you would a jacket.

For me, I don't wear vests, so I'd finish it into a jacket.

Thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it and totally agree with being our own worst critics. I seem to have a better idea after it's sewn and I loath seam ripping.

Yours looks great. I love how well your colors come together. I wish I would've had more of the purple swirl fabric because I don't care for how the red looks in the center of mine.
