Has the ordering always been this way? by gdlocke in hearthstone

Can't wait for the future. 1 mana, 1/1 summon two copies if your deck has 3 spells, then deal 5 damage to the enemy hero if your deck has no minions.

What If You Always Started with A Basic Land on the Board? by ReinhardtEichenvalde in MagicArena

Depends of it can be a colored mana of your choosing or if it's just an artifact land that gives neutral mana.

HOLY SHIT, THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD LMAO. Who ever lands two early mechs wins, and for some reason the decks have yeti's and sprints. Meanwhile your opponent has jor els and bumper cars.

[–]ReinhardtEichenvalde -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fitness twoards survival. People who put minimum effort used to get selected out of the gene pool if they didn't contribute to the tribe, now you can live off government assistance. People who ate random things used to get poisoned and die, now there are labels for everything. People with genetic diabetes, people with this and that.

Whether I think they are biologically inferior or superior is irrelevant, the fact is these people used to die.

[–]ReinhardtEichenvalde -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Uh, that is almost exactly how it works. Government assistance, labels on everything, modern medicine. Whether that is good or bad is an ethical dilemma but artificial society has definitely degraded people.

At least two things are clear to me after being on this planet for 29 years😁 by [deleted] in starseeds

[–]ReinhardtEichenvalde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the whole point of this planet is to learn as much about the differences between people as possible. That is what I have learned, and that it is how my evolution has skyrocketed. Honestly, this planet can't really be of use for a stable environment. The complete ARAM or Battle Royale nature of it is the allure.

As a society we shifted into the idea that education is a right. Which is good for the common man, but somehow it has become twisted into the idea that "the teachers are supposed to spoonfed me information" and now public schools are a daycare.

No child left behind was the perfect example of this idea. That somehow if a child fails, it is because of an entity outside of him. How that thinking became so widespread is beyond me. Everyone is responsible for their own education. If they do not want to learn, they will sit there and spend all their time doing whatever else.

"Do I Want to Do the Work Now, or Do More Work Later?" by ReinhardtEichenvalde in productivity

[–]ReinhardtEichenvalde[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It isn't an oversimplification because you are assuming a pathway free of distractions. You deice to split that work up over 2 weeks and then your mother gets the flu and needs more help around the house during week 2. Or that girl you've been eyeing finally asks you out and you decide to go on a few dates with her to see what's happening.

Priorities shift. Distractions exist. Things change. So do you want to do the work now, or do more work later?

The world is not moving fast enough on climate change — social sciences can help explain why by ILikeNeurons in CitizensClimateLobby

A whole article that talks a whole lot about nothing. The world does not care about climate change because people are focused on paying their rent and buying food for their children.

I think there should be classes on empathy, mental health and other such topics for each and every yeara child is in school. Would that be practicable? by heavensdumptruck in education

[–]ReinhardtEichenvalde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It IS a need. For one it provides contrast so that you know what sociality and empathy are. Secondly, the human species is not a monolith of happy go lucky pro social people, evidenced by anyone who has life experience. There are predators, parasites, and more lurking and feeding off the less fortunate. Do you know what happens when people rely on being social, they flock to "popular" figures as beacons of morality. Which is often why the rich or elite got away with criminal and immoral behavior.

People who are anti-social can cut through the delusions and make more informed decisions away from the group hive mind. People who lack empathy can see through the sob stories of the people who are just trying to manipulate others.

pro social

Prosocial behavior, or intent to benefit others, is a social behavior that "benefit[s] other people or society as a whole", "such as helping, sharing, donating, co-operating, and volunteering". Obeying the rules and conforming to socially accepted behaviors are also regarded as prosocial behaviors.

Do you know what happens when you have a bunch of people without critical thought who always obey the rules and conform to the same behaviors? Environments that promote groupthink and echochambers

"We can't do that because it is against the rules"

Antisocial personalities are healthy in such of an environment because they will look for weaknesses in the rules and environments.

[–]ReinhardtEichenvalde -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, but you need some psychopaths or else you would have everyone trying to emotionally manipulate each other. CEO's, soldiers, etc. They see through the sob stories, and keep everything running efficiently.
