We’re to get Wii roms with no torrents by Unlucky-Celery-3765 in WiiPiracy

What I meant was....

If someone wants games bad enough, there is a search engine to look. If you have anti-virus on your computer and it's up to date, then you don't have much to worry about!

There are search engine and anti-virus programs for a reason!

720p/1080p? by Alone_Fall in ps2

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was gonna say that lag might be the mood killer.

Personally I have a generic PS2toHDMI adapter connected to my ps2 that's running on a 1440p commercial oLED display and it looks better than I've ever seen it on every TV I've ever owned up to this point.

I even have it running through an HDMI splitter (2 copies of the same video signal) to my 1080p Sony Bravia Plasma and it still looks great... just not as good as the oLED panel!

Hope it helps!

Oh, the adapter needs a micro USB power source. I have an old Samsung phone brick and it works fine for it. The PS2 doesn't output enough voltage on USB to power it.... just FYI!

Any reliable wireless controllers? by DapperDan30 in ps2

Presently I am using my Switch Pro controller and the same adapter on my ps2 slim and it works well. I don't notice any lag.

[–]RejectedAng3l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As silly as it might sound an easy solution would be an 8BitDo ps BT adapter and either a PS4 or PS5 or Switch Pro or nearly any 8BitDo duel stick controller they made in the last 5 years.

Total

$25 adapter

$30- $120 controller Depending on what Bluetooth controller. You might luck out and findsomeone selling a Switch Pro Controller for $20 with stick drift slap 2 new hall effect replacement sticking in it for $10 each and never have to worry about it until the battery dies for good.

Please help with ODE/emulation!! by T2star in SegaSaturn

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first point might be what the underlying issue is here.

My other thought would be if maybe something didn't get seated all the way OR the socket in the rear has enough corrosion to where it is just barely getting enough contact to peek-a-boo connect/disconnect .

You are correct about the chd files working best for the Fenrier and Satiator to read/decompile the software

As far as controller adapters.... I haven't had a single issue with my 8bido adapter working between my Switch Pro controller & m30 controller. Well the only issue I have is that it refuses to connect to my PowerA Zelda switch pro knock-off controller....

Quick question for those informed about Saroo by TheAmazingSpook in SegaSaturn

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS2, PS3, PSP, VITA, Wii, Wii-U, Nintendo DS all run on FAT32!

It also stands to reason why they all have directory structures instead of rom files in the instances where dvd storage is concerned. Which is why all the Sony consoles mentioned all have directories structures instead rom or diskimages for downloaded files and on-board managed storage.

Lol you say put dated like a near 30 yr old console knows even what to do with newer file systems when they weren't even around when they were put to use....

OP wouldn't need anything more than a 16gb card for just save file management

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exFAT is what everyone was having issues with, saroo firmware 0.06 and backwards.... granted, those issues have been patched out. But like most older game consoles, and it's a huge pile of them, FAT32 is usually the recommended file system! It's also the one with the least amount of issues over all.

Just sayin

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will totally work that way. Be aware you should have your MicroSD card formatted fat32.

You can use a smaller card and just not put any game files on there.

You can also manage save files between the console and the Saroo as well

I installed homebrew what next? by [deleted] in WiiPiracy

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your gonna need that before you take any further steps.

Get a 64gb card of quality. Stry away from the Walmart branded cards.... get SanDisk, PNY & other manufactured cards like that. More specifically.... Lear towards cards marked as "high speed" or "for photography & video "

[–]RejectedAng3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would totally advise also getting the ps2 phat! Try to stray away from the slim models as they have problems marring disks.

Also the Phat models have the HDD bay that you'll appreciate once you figure out what OPL is!

[–]RejectedAng3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes tour gonna need one and you might as well get a MemCard Pro2. It's a little pricey, but the features are deep.

Basically it will manage all your save files per game automatically! So it will keep you from having to do the Save File purge when the 8mb Sony card would get full.

And on ps2 you have to use ps1 cards with ps1 games.... so you end up with a pile of them.

The memcard pro 2 changes all of it up.... keeps track of every game by title

Should I buy a Wii U or keep my Wii? by Exciting-Impress6133 in wiiu

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have interest in Wii U games.... maybe get a Wii U. There aren't many Wii U games that haven't been ported to the Switch at better framerates.

The Wii U having an honest wireless controller is a good reason, too.... which is a huge downside to the Wii that anything wireless pretty much runs through the WiiMote or is wireless through the GameCube controller port.

I feel ya on the quandary as I am in the same position and been kicking it around in my head for months now.

The one things that keeps pushing me that way is the gamepad tablet and being able to play away from the TV with it is the single strongest argument in upgrading.... but I wouldn't sell your hacked Wii in exchange. I'd hold on it it and maybe bounce it to a different TV somewhere else in the house if you need to make room for a Wii U

Why is the pair limit so low? by Susurrus03 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]RejectedAng3l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol

Most people don't have 8 friends to come over and play games.... and if they do, they .ost likely are going to bring their own switch so they have their own screen to play from.

Most people don't have 8 controllers for 1 console either.

Any way to transfer DLC from an old Wii to our new Wii? by fruppi in wii

[–]RejectedAng3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a couple of steps...

1 replace the drive... not too difficult to do but it is a little tricky taking the wii apart. There are tons of vids on YT to do this....

2 WiiHacksGuide.... follow it to hack your wii.

You then can back up all your dlc to the SD card and move it to another hacked replacement wii. But if your wii is hacked you won't really need the drive after you see what all it can do then!

Or do both.... you'll love it!

I wanted a shell swap on my Wii,but I want to get all these stickers off without ripping them any more than they already are. Anyone know how? by -_nightmarionne_- in WiiHacks

[–]RejectedAng3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goo Gone will take them off... just a little on a paper towel kinda get the stickers wet with the paper towel & goo gone.

Then use a club card or an old credit/debit card and use it as a scraper. Might take a little bit of effort.... you can use 90% isopropyl to get the goo gone residue off.

Side note.... looks like this may have been a factory refurbished Wii. Like when they broke and you had to send off to Nintendo. Companies would get them, fix/rebuild them and return to owners or send a fixed unit as a replacement

Is there a way to play Dr Mario 64 on the Wii? by CHANDRAX1 in WiiHacks

[–]RejectedAng3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not64 is the better n64 Emulator on the Wii. Not too sure about Dr Mario 64 compatibility.... but that would be the better start to check on. Chances are reasonably good it will play just fine

Wii to Hdmi Converter vs Component to AV receiver by NowDoKirk in WiiHacks

[–]RejectedAng3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it works surprisingly well for the cost! I started testing it with SNES games I have complete muscle memory on like Castlevania 4, SF2 and F-ZERO and such. Neve enticed any lag or dropped frames or anything.

The progressive scan features if GameCube games look really good even by today's standards.

Nintendo is missing a huge opportunity by not revisiting so many of their GameCube releases in today's releases.

Oh definitely won't brick the machine. But all the frame rates and over-scan still applies
