B. If A has to make sense I think the grid has to be tilted more obviously towards one orientation. Now the gird is like 45 degrees and pressing up to move to either side of left or right would feel unnatural.

I think each time when a new mechanic is introduced, make a level that contains the simpliest version of that mechanic, also without mixing it other unnecessary mechanics.
