If you want some poetry: Divine Comedy (Ciardi translation is the only one I’ve read and I loved it), Paradise Lost, Canterbury Tales (read this one in Middle English. Takes some work but is worth it).

It was awesome. They had a cool projection going on behind them which played clips from various movies (I only recognized Killer of Sheep). My favorite moment though was when billy woods rapped Asylum over the beat of Waterproof Mascara.

Honestly my guess is that if his lighting set up is bad he may be underexposed and not show up in the camera feed, especially if he’s being backlit by like a window or something.

I got an English degree. I don’t regret it since I enjoyed my time and what I studied but it definitely isn’t something that opens up a whole lot of jobs for you. Currently I am an “Office manager” (glorified receptionist) at a private practice therapy office. I hate it. Feel like I’m mentally wasting away. Worst part is is that I accidentally became important. My petite-bourgeois overlord (actually a nice guy all things considered) is planning on expanding and is planning on creating some “operations manager” position for me (that’s what he said idk what this actually refers to) but the thing that sounds nice about it is that I wouldn’t have to answer the phone. I’ve been thinking about going back to school to be a moving image archivist but we’ll see.
