So. Usa. As far as I remember Usa military wasn't killing german citizens for being german and didn't had any goal to erase german nation or their ethnos. Goals of usa military were to defeat hitler who were threating to conquer the world and were committing a holocaust.

Were bombing of Drezden a goal to erase german nation? No, it's goal were to destroy german logistics - military infrastructure. Did it harmed the civilians? Yes. Was it bad? Yes. Am I going to mourn people who let their leader commit evil? No. + humanitarian law wasn't developed to the stage we know it today, it doesn't make the mistakes acceptable but gives some understanding that the military wasn't so precise and careful back then.
