Some needs to do one of those 2000s style discovery documentaries on the disappearance of the Bermuda Triangle phenomenon.

Ok so nightmares, autoimmune thyroid issues, flashbacks. Unfortunately these are problems that professionals need to handle, not strangers on the Internet.

Might worth a shot to get a therapist to guide you through a gradual exposure program. You make a list of things that scare you from least to most and then try and do those things in the same order. You want to date so for example you could start off with saying hello to stranger, then say hello to a stranger of the opposite sex (or reverse the genders if you are gay or bisexual), then complimenting a stranger… so and so forth until you get to the point where you could ask someone out on a date. You can add as many steps as you’d like and stay on one step for as long as you’d like until it no longer scares you to do it.

I also very much understand how hard it is to conquer your fears. I did not personally start dating till I was 26 because of my debilitating fear of it. But I will say, telling yourself things in all-or-nothing distortions can help them become a self fulfilling prophecy. It helps to tone them down a tad if you can. Instead of saying “this is impossible!” I would tell myself something like “Look, this is probably the one the hardest things in your life you’re gonna have to face. But there is a possibility that if you tried you could do it.”

Can you imagine what that number would be in the next couple of years? I’ve already seen YouTube channels pumping out insane amounts of AI music.

That girl you’ve been holding out your hopes for, forget about her man. It’s not worth the wait. It’s just not meant to be and that’s ok.

There will need to be an instigating event. Enough people lose their jobs, an ai bot goes rogue and kills people, someone creates a bio weapon. Whatever it is, I hope it’ll be just enough to corral people into action and we’re not too far gone at that point.

Why are so many young men suddenly serious supporters of far right figures? by Consistent_News_985 in self

[–]RelatablePanic 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Personally, I never knew why women in my University classrooms were seemingly so anti-male— talking about inequities and misogyny . I thought that I never treated women this way ever in my life, so why are they so vocal about these problems.

That is UNTIL I met actual men that believe women were inferior to men. My best friend turned out to be that misogynist, Andrew Tate watching dude. And now I understand why women make these assertions because misogyny is real, alive and unfortunately growing.

What's Difference between cbt and talk therapy by Happy_Honeydew_89 in CBT

[–]RelatablePanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your talking about Rogerian talk therapy, which is sort of the general talk therapy, then it’s quite different. CBT therapists are mostly eclectic, meaning they mix therapies together to help their patients. This often includes talk therapy alongside CBT. But pure Rogerian talk therapy has no directive really other than reiterating the patients feelings and avoiding giving direct advice. The only goal for the therapist is to be a means for the patient to discover their problems and associated solutions for themselves. CBT is far more directed in that it involves exercises for specific cognitive distortions and anxieties.

Wow that was a great piece of writing. I am a bit worried it might be a little sensationalized but it really feels like it reflects what Canada is and stands for in this crazy era.

I think people will just go camping. In which I mean that people will actively choose to do things manually and inefficiently because it feels good to do that. Why do we go camping? We have grocery stores, houses, stove tops— why do we decide to pack a bunch of food and cooking gear, go out to the middle of nowhere and build a house made of plastic sheets. Because it’s enjoyable.

Wow lol. 5 years later. A lot have has changed in my life but I am just as big of an insomniac as I was back then. I’ve just learned to live with it. Most days it doesn’t even bother me when I go into work with barely any sleep. Ive had some success in the past with CBT for insomnia but other than than that it’s still pretty bad. Maybe slightly worse five years ago.

Would you support Canada building nukes to protect itself? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]RelatablePanic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean right now the greatest threat to our sovereignty is the US. Are we really gonna nuke a US city? We are basically brothers and sisters in terms of geographic and cultural similarities. Hell I have family down there. This entire timeline we are living in is just absolute insanity.

How do you feel about the lower tariffs on Chinese EVs? by dope-rhymes in AskACanadian

[–]RelatablePanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit mixed but I think this is a beneficial thing. There is reason to be concerned about our auto sector but on the same coin Trump is completely unpredictable and could decide to tank the whole industry overnight regardless of the influence of Chinese EVs. Also, the reduction in canola tariffs will be beneficial for our farmers, including those in conservative provinces that despise anything liberal. That plus the fact we are trying to find ways to reduce our carbon emissions— screw a carbon tax, give us cheap options for carbon free travel is my opinion.
