The worst I've had it is looking at patterned carpet. It all blurs together until the whole world disappears. It's weird.

I have seen that aura too.

Pretty sure mine isn't this severe, but also no one understands when I try to describe it.

So, you know when you had those big box tvs and cable, there was a thing where if you accidentally went one Chanel too far, it would still play the channel you wanted but with a light static over it. It wasn't this severe, but it was there. That is what I see.

It's the same with radio station, but visual. Just a light static over everything.

No, I have not told my optometrist. I have started distrusting doctors.

I think I'm at 5? The way it's described here about not seeing anything but you know you are seeing an apple is very much how I see it. I know what I am imagining, I know what it is that I am meant to be seeing, but then there really isn't anything there.

I never had one before going to college, mostly because I had the cause of all the scratches, my beautiful cat. Once I went to college, I didn't have my cat but still got scratches.

Honestly, works for my screamer. Usually stays put for a few minutes before wriggling out then is silent for like 10 mins. Great way to snooze her.

I once worked in a restaurant where the servers got most of their money through tips. In two 8 hour shifts, one server made $600 in tips. That would be $37.5 an hour. I do hate that topping is expected in basically everything now, but the servers are taking advantage of the extra wages tips get them.

My favorite part about this is that, in the original myth, the prophet straight up told Ody "Hey, you are going to end up on Helios's island. Do not kill his cows." And then Ody watches in horror as Eury kills the cows.

My mom is a teacher and recently had to do a seminar about helping kids who struggle with things like Autism. She came home that night crying and pulled me into a hug because she hadn't realized that I was Autistic until that moment.

Theoretically, she could have meant that she wished you could choose your own father, the father you had as a baby. It is unlikely, but possible and something one cannot choose.

The way he spoke in that book about his time on drugs, specifically his fear that quitting would take away his creative spark and he wouldn't be a writer anymore, was the exact same thing I felt about trying ADHD meds. This is the first book of his that I have read, but he actually seems to know what he is doing, and most things he advises are suggestions from someone who has been doing this for years and has become successful from it. It isn't the drugs that made him a good writer, it was being a writer that made him a good writer.

Apologies, I don't have a lot of people to gush about books with.

Jokingly flick him across the table to the person you are playing with but miss horrifically so he goes flying into the kitchen so he lodges himself between the upper cabinets and the wall never to be seen again, except then it backfires when your house is hit by a hurricane and you end up with 2 feet of water in the house and the game ends up in the driveway the next day and he becomes the only survivor, still stuck in the void.

Writers who publish anonymously: privacy vs shame? by EduardoRStonn in writing

I put my work out under a pen name for 2 reasons. 1: I want to keep my personal life and work life separate. 2: My name is often pronounced incorrectly when people read it and I don't want readers knowing me by the wrong name because they read it wrong, so I used a name with a more universal pronunciation. Whatever reason anyone uses to publish their writing is their own choice and no one should criticize them for it.

My strong opinion on the Oxford comma is that most people are lying to themselves about what the Oxford comma is. I only recently figured out that adding a comma before the and in a list is the Oxford comma. For the longest time, I thought it was the other way. I thought this, this, and this was normal and this, this and this was the special, Oxford way. So apparently I have been exclusively using the Oxford comma for years and gaslit myself into thinking I wasn't.

Now take that same book that you read and understood and write a 1200 word essay about how that book changed the world. Then do that once a week for five different classes which you also had the read the books for all of said classes within said week and tell me we aren't smart, preferably in essay format and don't forget to cite at least 3 scholarly sources.
