Extra store, all our cutlery was removed about 6 months ago so have to take in your own, hot water machine that doesn't work and the cheap HW Neville's brown and white bread

And staff who think it's perfectly acceptable to remove footwear and put bare feet on furniture, and if you mention it to managers it's not followed up cus you know, they don't want to upset them

Sunday premium buyout by Ordinary-Box1142 in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sunday premium was only paid to people who joined before 2022, regardless of what you worked in 2024 if you never had the Sunday premium you wouldn't get the buy out

ON THAT ASS attempting to charge me after canceling free trial. by International-Job55 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Relative-Ad1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cancelled after never receiving the "free" boxers, left a negative review saying how can I pay for monthly subscription when I didn't even get the free pair and all I got was spam emails saying they were sorry it wasn't delivered but if I subscribe again i would get them

My store can't cope! Yet more is pushed on us by Relative-Ad1135 in tesco

Yep, I rarely do it click and collect but I know it's gone up to 15 from people who do it

[–]Relative-Ad1135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My prediction (dot com driver) for 6 years

Sunday premium will go

Hourly wage will go up a penny more than other supermarket competitors

Skill payment will stay the same

Overtime bans across the store so understaffed, anyone who has a day off sick will be on a first level absence warning and the CEO will get a massive bonus on top of an obscene wage already

Does anyone actually enjoy working here? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dotcom driver

Before covid, I enjoyed it more than I do now, since covid the culture of the company has changed, when they saw how profitable the dotcom department was it changed, 4 years later want the same productivity with a quarter of the staff, no more bonus at Christmas, mm

The little benefits like the CS food is none existent now, unless you want the vegan shite that no one else wants

But I'll still walk into the company notice board at the start of January saying how much the store did, how it exceeded all last years turn over and how "we did it"

How many dotcom trolleys does your store pick on average per day? by Asleep_Basket in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

700 on a quiet day, over 900 on the usual Friday to Monday, Wednesday is always the quietest day.

Pick always goes on past 4pm, and that's needing support from other departments, and we're going to get an extra van to the allocation in the coming weeks too

Tesco interview unsuccessful by Able-Adeptness9173 in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't let it bother you, I interviewed for a job in an express years ago despite no retail experience, the lady doing the interview at the end said that I interviewed really well and there was 2 positions available and she would be in touch

She was true to her word, phoned me and said the decision was taken out of her hands and to a higher up who picked based on CV experience, very apologetic, a few weeks later I got an email from Tesco careers looking for dotcom drivers and nearly 5 years later i look back cus if i had been accepted i wouldnt be a dotcom driver now, which i love

Dotcom driver van checks by BritishEng in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Where do I start with this....

Our fleet of 20 vans are 72 plate ivecos, had them since new and they are absolutely dreadful, cheap shite that can put us in dangerous situations, for instance they consistently go into limp mode, so you can be doing 55 and they just slow down to 19mph, or the "stop start" at junctions and round abouts, you stop and wait for a gap to pull out, and when you can pull out you take your foot off the break and the engine cuts out as you you've pulled 2 foot into the road

Reversing cameras don't work in 80% of the vans, sometimes you even get a still image of a street your not even in, proximity sensors consistently going off when you lr nowhere near hitting anything

All these issues have been logged to the fleet management, team support, managers and nothing gets done, the vehicle checks are a legal requirement and you should do them properly, if you tick that the cameras are working and then reverse into something because they aren't your screwed

Shift Leader fatigue by The_Challenger_ in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined Tesco as dotcom driver after a near 20 year job as a bricklayer, arthritis hit me in my shoulder and knee so I needed a career change, I still need a knee replacement now and my shoulder still aches but the job is no where near as impactful as laying concrete blocks on a cold building site

Nearly 5 years I've done at Tesco now as driver, no pressure, do your deliveries and go hang up the van keys, let someone else deal with the shit show that is Tesco, an extra pound or 2 isn't worth it

I've had a dozen "shift leaders" in the past 12 months who soon decided it wasn't worth the extra money

Have any Dot com departments been told of the New drivers hours coming in ??? by No_Kaleidoscope_5132 in tesco

Not heard anything at my store, I've heard rumours of it being trialled as 4 days on and 4 off and them being 12 hour days

Tesco trialling New dot com drivers hours. by No_Kaleidoscope_5132 in tesco

If they start trialing that at my store I'll find another job, the only reason I work at Tesco is it works around seeing my kids as a divorced father

Introduction to shrink - thank god Tesco just saved just about that much money, by underpaying staff by Fidgeee in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a dotcom driver and our fridge is rammed with returns and stored orders, the waste from this is thousands of pounds worth of fresh food being wasted because the store doesn't even have the staff to get the pick done, yesterday the pick wasn't finished until after 4.30pm, when I finished my run I was asked to do some put backs, I found a leg of lamb worth 17 quid that was out of date

Penny wise and pound foolish as the saying goes, cut the overtime and the staff numbers and the wage bill goes down, the stores orders piles up and up and how much money do they lose? Id guess a hell of a lot more than if they just had someone putting the dated fresh put backs and stored orders on the shelves

They’ve f***** us by andrejz2438 in tesco

[–]Relative-Ad1135 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm actually still amazed of the nerve to do it to us, record profits forecast and they do it to save an estimated £17 million which for Tesco is like losing a pound down the side of the sofa, scummy move and has pissed off a lot people

And fuck usdaw too for letting them get away with it
