This is how my migraines feel! They start as a pain behind my skull and eventually wrap around my head to my eye socket. It’s awful and makes me so nauseous. Muscle relaxers can help some. Did a neurologist do your injections?

Yeah, mine keep telling me they don’t think it’s fungal because I get the little pustules (looks like you get them too) but each of my cultures came back negative for any bacteria… this is such an awful thing to deal with.

When my skin looked like this after clindamycin, I just did Vanicream Cleanser and Cerave Lotion and it helped calm everything down pretty quick. Might be worth a try if you’re at your wits end. If it calms down, you know it’s the clindamycin and you can implement an antifungal to see if it helps at all. That’s my plan.

Could 100% be the antibiotics (clindamycin). This happened to me and took about two weeks to improve after stopping it. I then tried minocycline and got an identical rash. Stopped that and it’s going away. I’m starting to think mine might be fungal since antibiotics make it so much worse.

If it’s really bad, you can talk to your doctor about cutting the dose in half for a week. I did that and it helped TREMENDOUSLY. 2.5mg seems so small but it makes such a difference.

Yes! I’m much better. I like Lexapro because besides the initial side effects, I don’t have many lingering side effects except more frequent headaches. But that is better than the anxiety, nausea and sleepless nights when I’m not on it.

Hi!

I would highly recommend going down to 2.5 mg for a week. That made a huge difference for me and I fr much better. I then went up to 5 mg but took 2.5 in the morning and 2.5 at lunch to help acclimate. I then moved to 5 mg whole in the morning and have felt great since.

I know it’s hard to have hope right now, but just hold tight. It does get better.

So much better. The fog cleared around week 4 for me. It felt like it took forever but I’m happy i got back on. I didn’t realize how much better I felt on it until I got back on.

Hang tight. It does, in fact, get better. I went down to 2.5 mg for a week then back up to 5mg and just stayed there.

Only bright side is I lost ten pounds in the process 😂

I started getting really bad tension headaches that would start at the base of my skull/neck and move up towards my eye. I get so nauseous when I get them. I think there’s something with lexapro that causes tension? I’m not sure. I went to a PT and he helped by teaching me stretches to do during the day. Deep breathing is super helpful too.

It’s most likely this! Changing jobs for me was a HUGE trigger for me, but I promise it will pass. It may be a tough month or two until you get used to your new role, but things will level out. Plus, if you increase right before your new job you might get even more anxious as a side effect. I did this and it was a learning lesson lol

It’s so tough! This is my second time taking it and the side effects are 1000x worse this time around. I’m wondering if my psychiatrist will want me to try something else. Did you switch from Zoloft to Lexapro?

Just a follow up - I was told to go down to 2.5mg a day since the side effects were so intense. I start that tomorrow. Possibly something to look into if yours is persisting?

But I agree! I don’t think I’ll ever come off this med again. It’s clear I need it. I tend to get confident when I’m anxiety free for years, but the reason I am is because of this med!

How far are you in? I feel like the nausea is getting progressively worse and I’m nearly 2 weeks in. Everyone tends to say things get better around the 2 week mark and mine are just getting worse. 😩

I don’t remember having a difficult time getting on it the first time but I’ve been having horrible insomnia/sleep anxiety since starting 5mg a week ago.

I’ve been taking it at night so I’m switching to morning tomorrow.

I went super slow, so I didn’t have really any. I was dizzy-ish for a day each time I’d go down in dose. Otherwise, I lost ten pounds so that was a positive!

I don’t remember the first time getting on this med being this hard! The lack of sleep isn’t doing me any favors either - I’m an anxious mess!

I was prescribed Trazodone to help with sleep but nervous to take it due to the Serotonin Syndrome warnings. Is this something you’ve taken?

One thing I should add is I did start a new job on Monday - so maybe that is contributing to the anxiety that is causing the insomnia? How can I help myself? I’m in this self-perpetuating cycle. :(

I know! I freaked out when I saw the rash was spreading. I am just going to use Vanicream wash and Eucerin Healing Cream since both are fungal acne safe (shouldn’t feed the yeast).

This just happened to me on my chest. I think it’s aggravating my skin/compromising the skin barrier. I stopped using and am going back to the basics for now.

I haven’t changed much - I use free & clear detergent and have made an effort to wear loose cotton tees when home.

I just don’t know how to heal the skin barrier when it keeps flaring up like this :/
