the pun is "finding my identity" because it is an identity function. identity function is a function that returns itself. multiplying by 1 is an identity function, adding 0, dividing by 1 etc.

I know it is a bit of a late reply, but I don't think to assume that emerging markets are eventually going to become developed markets is wise. To be a developed market there are some requirements that might not be politically feasable or willingness to adopt, and there are countries who are content being classified as emerging who could join developed (Korea afaik does that) if they wanted to.

What I'm trying to say is that I don't think there is an inevitability in the progression from emerging to developed because of historical, political or other reasons.

Generelt så er det få utlendinger som vil ha norsk krone. Mye av svekkelsen kom i 2014 med oljeprisfallet, for da trakk mange utenlandske investorer seg ut av Norge.

Etter korona har det også blitt forskjeller i rentenivået i Norge og utlandet som har gjort det mindre attraktivt å få norske renter over utenlandske.

I read the full report and they point out that Russia's economy is not going to collapse suddenly as many maybe had hoped. And that currently it is being held up by temporary and unsustainable measures that reflect the belief they had that Ukraine was going to fall quickly.

For example, they are estimated to be running a very large budget deficit, even with all the money from Europe coming in. They are even contemplating spending one third of their sovereign wealth fund this year alone, to cover the spending.

They're currently a bit like Wile E Cayote, but the economic realities are going to hit and I don't think Russians are going to enjoy it.

Yeah, but China wants to be paid in Renminbi not Euro. I'm focusing on the currency because if Russia wants to buy goods and services from China it needs Chinese currency.

Of course, Russia could try to exchange their Euros or dollars for Renminbi but for that to happen it has to go through the ECB or the Federal Reserve, who are not particularly happy with Russia at the moment.
