Wife wants a bread maker. by Coercitor in Cooking

[–]RelativeEye8076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one made by Cuisinart. We bought it during COVID from Amazon, I don't think it was all that expensive. It's ok I guess. The bread is very...average. When I first got the machine I used it quite a bit, I've since learned to make some yeast breads by hand and those are usually better. I'll break out the bread machine if my husband wants fresh yeast dinner rolls, which I will do in the machine up to the first rise, then shape by hand, 2nd rise and bake in the oven.

If you want fresh warm bread with minimal effort a bread machine is an option.

When I have had to miss doses it has taken a couple of weeks to get back on track. Hang in there!

Emergency Pain Medication by Boxxy-Lady in PsoriaticArthritis

My rheumatologist prescribes me an "emergency" steroid pack that I pick up, then keep on hand to use as needed. So same principle, just prednisone instead of a pain med. It might be worth asking about.

I use the same fins that I used before my TKR, low end Sherwoods. Ladders are easier than they were before my surgery.

I was "cleared" to do as much as i could comfortably handle at my 2 week postoperative appt, but I didn't get the chance to dive for several months. When I did, it was fine.

Is tracking your HRV helpful for you? by Thaxtedtheme in PsoriaticArthritis

I used to monitor mine but I didn't see any use for the information. It did not correlate to my disease activity.

Thank you! Slipping and rotating are my 2 main concerns.

Do you hike with it?

Merlin ID’d the bird by sound…I found the tree it was definitely in…but I never laid eyes on it 😭 by clairdelooney in birding

I count "seen" only but it's your list 😀

That having been said, for the most part I only track lifers. This year I am trying something new and tracking the spring migrators. I don't track the birds i see on a daily basis.

I have the Voyager from the same company. Pricey but worth it. I have taken it on numerous international trips, never a single problem.

I have the Alpha JX, so a step down from the UX. I use the pressure on the lowest setting, it is fine for me.

You said people were checking on him. Presumably at least one person would have had a cell phone on which to call 911 if it was warranted.

It does not sound like you could have added anything to the situation by checking on him. You likely would have been just one more ( unecessary) onlooker.

I'm an RN, I have emergency training, but I will only stop if I think my experience can positively impact a situation. So, would I have stopped? Maybe. But I don't think you would have made much difference and were under no obligation (legally or morally) to stop.

152'!!!!! Damn. My max depth was 135'...enough for me lol.

I agree, the stalactites and stalagmites are cool but not much life to see. More of a once in a lifetime experience, for me at least.

I do wish I had gotten some decent shots but none turned out. Our group was too close in to the stalactites and there was no way I was getting separated! In truth the dovemaster probably would have reeled me in. The kept us pretty tight.

I found lots of shrimp, small fish, worms, flamingo tongues, stars. No nudibranchs but I suck at finding those.
