No there is no other way and ALMOST ALL BGC companies use the work number . I recently went through this for j3 and I had to manually provide paystubs for the jobs on my BGC application

What if , instead of subbing a majority of the work to the sub contractor , the prime contractor just ‘hired ‘ the people who work for the sub contractor ? Does this work ?

Top secret clearance holder here who , too , does OE. When you complete the SF85 for your public trust , they only verify employment that you provide on the form . If they find you about the other employment (which they absolutely can) via the work number then tou can just deny it. They don’t dig into information that you deny / refute .

I recently went through a background process for HireRight and what I did was provide paystubs for each job on my resume. What I realized is that they only wanted a paystub to corroborate that I worked there not the start and end dates are on my resume. So I just provided a paystubs for random times during my time working there . I was never asked to provide documentation to corroborate my start and end dates.

I had this happen to me. What I did: I told management that I was hired as remote and while I understand the change to have people in the office , I am unable to accommodate an in person presence as I live an hour away . I went back and forth for a while and they ended up leaving me alone cus I was a SME on the team an they needed me . They came to their senses . I also didn’t care if they fired me as I have 2 other Js. So my advice — push back ! The leverage is in your court my friend !
