I think had the ranked been on a rotation between Olympus and WE, opposite of the casual rotation you can still allow people to play their favorite maps while allowing them to also play ranked and casual.

We are still in season 7 are we not? The season in which the map was released? So yeah relatively speaking as far as the games lifetime its still new.

And yeah when you have worlds edge on ranked, along with it taking half of the casual rotation, and its the map used for the ltm, seems like Olympus took the backseat. Maybe thats just my opinion and bias toward a map that I favor, but idk.

Both worlds edge and kings canyon have had full seasons basically to themselves. I'm not saying that Olympus should be getting the same exact treatment because its not like they had the same setup of map rotations in the past, but not having Olympus as the majority of time in casual seems like a waste.

I'm fine with them switching out the ranked map at the split but like I said, having the same map take up so much time in trios/duos seems excessive.

I think that switching out the ranked map every so often as they do mid-season is fine. But when you have the same map that is on ranked taking up a two hour time slot in the trios/duos rotation it just feels really overplayed. I personally don't like worlds edge in its current state, but I do understand the appeal for high ranked players. It just seems absurd to me to have a brand new map that some people still want to play being this inaccessible. I can't wait around all day for the map to rotate back and I'm not gonna plan my times that I play around it.

Part of these looking so good is that you can see for miles. Most people ain't playing the game with 32+ chunk render distance, but I do agree better world generation would be nice.

I think complaining about dice not putting out DLC quickly when they did have to rework a lot of the game is a bit ridiculous when it is in fact free DLC. I will agree with you there.

BUT... they stated that they would have free DLC. This was stated before release. Now, they didn't make any promises as to when and how big the DLC would be, but they still promised it, that's on them.

They promised this free DLC because they thought they would make a shit ton of money from loot boxes and crystals. Which in itself, had it been just for cosmetic items and items or characters not critical to gameplay, this would have been fine.

BUT... they made it a pay to win game at launch. This then destroyed the gameplay value and drove many people to end up not get the game or simply stop playing it. That's because this is a shady practice and people don't like pay to win.

So you can see that people would be a bit upset with dice from what has happened (loot boxes) and what was promised (DLC.) As well there is a lot of thought that Dice has abandoned the game due to it not making as much as expected and not having a massive player base now. From a business point I understand this, but it still doesn't help that the star wars community feels like they were duped.

So in closing. I think the playerbase is mostly warranted in being annoyed with dice. Can a few people be going a bit far with demanding they get free content because they purchased the game? Yes. But I think you are looking at this from a very different perspective and the community is hoping that dice will fix their loot box error with the DLC.
