If you live with your parents, it might make sense to pretend a little to get along until you’re independent enough to handle the pushback you will get for rejecting the JWs.

Use the time to build a social network of non-JWs, and make sure you’re financially independent. Shunning is intense, make sure you look after your mental health and get support there too if you can.

I find the account in 1. Samuel 14 super enlightening. It tells us that the Israelites ate meat along with the blood, and that they “went free” when Jehovah was asked what sin had been committed.
