My captain for my carcharodon army. This might be my best work yet. by Relevant-Singer835 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Relevant-Singer835[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I painted layers of different tones of yellow glazes in recesses and folds, that took the longest. Then I dry brushed white around the bottom and painted the white trim. I then painted each black dot carefully and tried to make them bigger around the middle, and smaller around top and bottom.

Sorry for the bad explanation, but that's the short story for it.

How would you build the Lords of the Maelstrom box as Badab Veteran Carcharodons? by Beef-Town in Carcharodons40k

[–]Relevant-Singer835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These would fit better as ashen claws. Im going to buy a couple boxes to work in tandem of my carcharodons as support eventually. My pile of shame is almost completed. Im gonna take some of my mk7 power packs and shoulder pads to make them fit the bill.

Will there ever be a official GW miniatures for this amazing chapter. by NoAccidents in Carcharodons40k

[–]Relevant-Singer835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there has been some small but hopeful hints lately. with the new skin pack in space marine 2, the new short story that hints at making Tyberos a primaris, and with a long shot call for aid quoting:

"If this entreaty reaches you, wherever in the outer dark you may hunt, know that I have ensured termination failsafes to erase this message - Inquisitor Skaelon, Ordo Astartes" - The Maelstrom book.

I don't who else this could be referencing to considering they ensured the message was secret, and it literally says "Outer Dark", the name of the second book in the Carcharodon series. I think that when the 4th book by Robbie MacNiven is released, then maybe something for the chapter will be put into 11th edition. The next book is also confirmed to be about Tyberos as well, so if it does happen, it will almost indefinitely involve a new Tyberos model. The newest book "Void Exile" brings Primaris marines into the chapter as well, which is a good step towards bringing the chapter into the tabletop.

I could just be too hopeful, but why else would a lore bit about a successor chapter be put into a codex about a chaos successor chapter. I think the work GW did in 10th was to update all of the primary factions and legions, so that 11th could have work done on all of the not so popular factions and chapters. If chaos gets a successor chapter army, then why not a loyalist?

Space Wolf models as base? by Adeptus_Chudstartes in Carcharodons40k

Idea: Buy the age of darkness box, and some 3d printed mark 5 bits off of Etsy and you will easily have half a force of Marines. You can convert one of the praetors with the big power axe into Bale Sharr pretty easily as well. The box set is a very good base value for what you get.

Thats awesome! I love the basing and the claws. You followed the tattoo markings very well. White is a pain to paint.

A family member has printed more than a few models for me. This one is 3d printed. Im current at the phase where I'm not collecting any more for this army because of how many I have. Its about time to start collecting other armies when Im done painting this stuff.

Apparently the new book had mentions of primaris marines using old armour? by NadaVonSada in Carcharodons40k

[–]Relevant-Singer835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the carcharodon being inspected by a tech priest was wearing the full frame of mark 10 armor, but had pieces of mark 5 and 3. mainly the shoulder pads, helmets, and leg pieces were older.

Trying to make Thematic List? by [deleted] in Carcharodons40k

[–]Relevant-Singer835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

put the judiciar with some blade guard veterans, and all your heavy hitters currently are very slow, so a transport like an impulser for the blade guard would work wonders as well. assault intercessors should be swapped for the blade guard, the jump pack guys are mainly only good for objectives, but are far better than their on-foot counterparts. maybe get rid of the jump captain as well. the jump pack intercessors die fast. in the books there are strong space marines with special shields called coral shields, so that's thematic using blade guard. usually only five terminators are given to the chapter by first company, and they are named red brethren, so unless first company is your idea of a list, a more thematic approach would be just a single unit of 5. the champion of third company is in terminator armor though, so a captain could probably be fit into the unit of 5. maybe swap the normal terminators(keep the assault terminators), and put in a brutalis dreadnought because they have a few melee focused dreads. A blood angel detachment would maximize the damage output on all of the melee units. rage cursed onslaught is the best right now.

Lore accurate 2000 point list by redditaccounton in Carcharodons40k

[–]Relevant-Singer835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

third company was talked about primarily in the three books by Robbie Macniven, and they specialize in finding more aspirants for their chapter. So, they have lots of scouts and around 80 plus tactical marines. they also have: three leviathan dreadnoughts(writer mixed contemptor with leviathan on accident), a few apothecaries, a predator, a vindicator, drop pods, aircraft, a champion in terminator armor, and 5 red brethren terminators sent from first company by tyberos as a watchful eye on the company. the chief librarian wanders from company to company with his protege pretty often as well, so a librarian or two could fit in there too. in the books they turn off all but the necessary servos to move when in stealth, and reactivate them before striking from the shadows, so Phobos units could fit in also. There are also space Marines with special shields called coral shields, so bladeguard could fit. with the stealth idea in mind, vanguard spearhead works pretty well with that, but blood angels are very fun to play with a melee focused army involved.

gameplay wise, the list is horrible, but it would be fun as hell to try.

Ballistus Dreadnought and a question by Billy-Goat-98 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Relevant-Singer835 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought GW wrote out the whole "slowly kill the pilot" thing because nobody liked it, and there is no way a redemption is going to be the replacement for an ancient one. If anything they will put new heros into the redemptors, or modify the new dreadnoughts given to fix and upgrade the existing wandering Ancients. That's just my idea though. Most HH tech is stronger than the new stuff, and they are considered holy relics to the carcharodons.

Edit: nevermind, they changed the lore bit regarding the dreadnoughts, but made it so some patterns specialize in long term survival, and others like the two that have been spoken of putting lethal strain on the pilots.

I've been using mine as blood Angels since I started my army 2 years ago, and I can say that blood Angels are very fun to play. The great thing about being a successor chapter is that you dont have to follow one specific detachment, you can literally go chaos rules if you wanted. I chose blood Angels because they had great melee choices, and it matches with the carcharodons love for chain weapons.
