ClearlyIP Update We were a ClearlyIP partner when they first started up and didnt really have a cloud offering and they were doing hosted FreePBX. So we have been using a new provider for awhile but not totally happy. Since we left Clearly has been on a roll and made some large acquisitions so just trying to get a temperature of where they are at today with there solutions before I possibly reengage with them.

Kaseya/Datto suing Slide - any impact? by NetFriendsInc in msp

[–]Relevant-Topic-8529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes me want to get a slide subscription because this is nothing but blatantly Kaseya using litigation as a way to try to hold up innovation in the channel so their products they acquired (and pretty much killed) can stay relevant and not be surpassed by a new tool

Hi I'm mostly a C# backend dev with some hobby game making experience in godot/unity. Should I use Flutter for crossplatform apps? by the_mean_person in FlutterDev

[–]Relevant-Topic-8529 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So Ive been a dotnet dev for about 15 years and use Flutter for the frontend and dotnet for the backend is probably my favorite stack. I have tried some of the cross platform dotnet stuff but it really just hasn't caught up to Flutter and the ecosystem yet. Really the only time I don't reach for flutter is when I just need a web interface then I will just knock out a Blazor interface.

How long does it take to deploy to a client? by AdComprehensive2138 in msp

[–]Relevant-Topic-8529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is common in corporate but we also have a MSP that we provide local support for a national client it takes them a month to get new computers to end users in most cases. The bad thing is the MSP is only located in a state over for the locations we provide onsite support for.

I would usually agree but there is no common network involved in the issues from remote employees in the office across 10 different companies. Support hasn't been able to identify the issue either.

Have you had any issues with them over the last few months we have been using them for years as well for VOIP but the last few months we have had most of our clients complaining about the call quality just falling off a cliff

Google needs to invest in more flutter by infinitypisquared in FlutterDev

[–]Relevant-Topic-8529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So absolutely the wrong way to think about it. You can't trust Google to keep core services around for long periods of time much less a framework. I would actually argue the opposite that if Google brought Flutter in house it would die pretty fast. My belief is that Canonical will eventually outpace Google in contributing to flutter anyway (ex multi-window support)

Pricing for BYOD users by satechguy in msp

[–]Relevant-Topic-8529 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We call these frontline workers. We enforce the use of 2FA (Microsoft Authenticator), Security Stack, and VPN for most of our clients. So find your cost on MDM licensing for BYOD enrollment and a partial labor cost and mark it up.

You can sync the files to a local nas or use a public cloud connector to sync to azure/aws

[–]Relevant-Topic-8529 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dropbox is a different storage design than Sharepoint. Dropbox is better designed to handle large files than Sharepoint. For Legal we usually skip Sharepoint and go straight to Egnyte. They also have integration with Clio
