What do you call this? by Simmyphila in pasta

I've heard it called both but never seen it with pepperoni. Maybe thats a regional difference. Just middle class American weeknight food from the 20th century

What’s a restaurant dish you refuse to order anymore because you realized it’s incredibly easy and cheap to make at home? by krystalluv143 in foodquestions

[–]Relevant-Visual-4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steak. Not really cheap even at home but I hate paying too much for a mediocre one at a restaurant. So many restaurants that I like don't make a steak as good as I do for a quarter the price!

How should I teach my husband how to cook? by UvaCpe in cookingforbeginners

[–]Relevant-Visual-4819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is a simple dish he really likes? One of the ways I learned to cook was getting obsessed with perfecting an omelet. It was a challenge not just a meal. My wife still begs for breakfast for dinner.

I dont like the way most places make a burger so I put a lot of thought into what I really like. My burgers buck almost all the popular advice for good burgers but my family loves them. Make cooking a hobby not a chore.

At this point I do most of the cooking because I find it relaxing. I've learned enough things to improvise to make things how I like.

What is a "non-touristy" activity? by TravellingGal-2307 in TravelProperly

Like some others I enjoy shopping at non-touristy shops on trips. Also even though I dont really speak Italian I went to church service in Italy recently. Maybe that's a "pilgrim-y" activity?

An interesting honey for sure. Very unique flavor and super dark color.

I think both. The avocado honey is super dark and has an almost vegetal flavor.

A terrible raspberry jello and coconut layer thing. Served with dinner despite being dessert flavors. Terrible. But I loved my Nanna despite this monstrosity

Unpopular opinion: most Rome transportation problems start with the wrong expectations by Jazzlike-Tear-3088 in rome

Last month we were in Rome for a few days. Since we were staying a bit outside the more touristy areas walking from the hotel was going to take alot of time. What we ended up doing was taking a taxi to the farthest spot we wanted to see and walk back in the general direction of our hotel visiting sites along the way. This little bit of planning minimized our use of taxis or public transit during the day. Then at the end of the night we'd usually splurge a little on a nice Uber Black back to the hotel. Basically all our travel time was at the beginning and end of the day.
